3. Safety Information

WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Installation and maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel.

  • Always disconnect power before installing, wiring, or servicing the timer.
  • Ensure all wiring complies with local and national electrical codes.
  • Do not operate the device if it appears damaged.
  • Verify the power supply voltage matches the timer's specifications.

4. Setup and Installation

The MUR1 timer is designed for DIN rail mounting.

4.1 Mounting

  1. Securely attach the timer to a standard 35mm DIN rail.
  2. Ensure adequate ventilation around the device to prevent overheating.

4.2 Wiring

Refer to the terminal markings on the device for correct connections. The MUR1 timer supports both DC and AC power supplies.

  • A1, A2: Power supply terminals (20-30 V DC or 20-264 V AC).
  • 15: Common terminal for the output relay.
  • 16: Normally Closed (NC) contact of the output relay.
  • 18: Normally Open (NO) contact of the output relay.
  • Y1: Control input (function dependent).

Always double-check wiring before applying power.

5. Operating Instructions

The MUR1 timer features three rotary switches for configuration:

  1. Time Range Selection: Use the top rotary switch to select the desired time range (e.g., 0.1-1s, 1-10s, 6-60s, 6-60min, 1-10h, 10-100h).
  2. Timing Value Adjustment: Use the central blue potentiometer to fine-tune the timing value within the selected range (e.g., if 1-10s is selected, you can set it from 1 to 10 seconds).
  3. Function Selection: Use the bottom rotary switch to select the desired timing function (e.g., A, B, C, Di, Ac, Bw). Refer to the detailed technical datasheet for specific descriptions of each function's behavior.

After setting, apply power to A1 and A2. The timer will begin its operation according to the selected function and time settings.

6. Maintenance

The Crouzet MUR1 timer is designed for minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the timer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or damage. Ensure the timer is free from dust and debris.
  • Environment: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature and humidity ranges.

7. Troubleshooting

If the timer is not functioning as expected, consider the following:

  • No Power: Check the power supply to terminals A1 and A2. Ensure the voltage is within the specified range (20-30 V DC or 20-264 V AC).
  • Incorrect Timing: Verify that the time range and timing value potentiometers are set correctly.
  • Function Issue: Confirm the correct timing function is selected. Consult the technical datasheet for detailed function descriptions.
  • Output Relay Not Actuating: Check the load connected to the output contacts (15, 16, 18) and ensure it is within the relay's current rating. Verify the control input Y1 if applicable to the selected function.
  • Loose Connections: Inspect all wiring for secure connections.

If problems persist, contact Crouzet technical support or a qualified electrician.
