4. Operation: Converting Your Futon

The Stanford Futon Set is designed for easy conversion between three positions: sofa, lounger, and bed. Always ensure the area around the futon is clear before converting.

Converting to Lounger Position:

1. From the sofa position, lift the seat frame slightly.
2. Push the backrest forward until it clicks into the lounger position.
3. Gently lower the seat frame back down.

Converting to Bed Position:

1. From the lounger position, lift the seat frame again.
2. Push the backrest forward until it releases from the lounger lock.
3. Gently lower the backrest completely flat to form a bed.

Converting back to Sofa Position:

1. From the bed position, lift the seat frame.
2. Push the backrest up until it locks into the upright sofa position.
3. Gently lower the seat frame.

Note: For Queen size futons, it may be easier for one person to lift the mattress slightly while another person adjusts the frame, especially when converting from bed to sofa.
