Setup

Before first use, ensure the scales are placed on a flat, stable surface. The Salter 1150 BKDR scales require 2 AAA batteries, which are included with the product.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scales.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Operating Instructions

Turning On and Basic Weighing

  1. Place the scales on a firm, flat surface.
  2. Press the ON/ZERO button to turn on the scales. The display will show "8888" and then "0".
  3. Place the item to be weighed directly onto the glass platform. The weight will be displayed.

Using the Add & Weigh (Tare) Function

The Add & Weigh function allows you to measure multiple ingredients consecutively in the same bowl without emptying it.

  1. Place your first ingredient (or empty bowl) on the scales. Note the weight.
  2. Press the ON/ZERO button to reset the display to "0".
  3. Add the next ingredient. The display will show the weight of only the newly added ingredient.
  4. Repeat this process for all subsequent ingredients.

Changing Units (Metric/Imperial & Aquatronic)

The scales can measure in grams (g), ounces (oz), milliliters (ml), and fluid ounces (fl.oz).

  1. With the scales on, press the UNIT button to cycle through the available measurement units.
  2. The Aquatronic function allows for accurate measurement of liquids (water, milk, etc.) by selecting 'ml' or 'fl.oz'.

Auto Shut-Off

To conserve battery life, the scales feature an automatic shut-off function. If left inactive for a period, the scales will turn off automatically.
