Product Overview

The Hamilton Beach Steam Iron & Vertical Steamer is designed for efficient wrinkle removal and garment care. It features a durable Durathon soleplate, powerful steam output, and convenient auto shut-off for safety.

Setup

Before first use, ensure all packaging materials are removed. It is normal for a small amount of condensation to be visible in the steam chamber due to factory testing.

1. Filling the Water Tank: Ensure the iron is unplugged and cool. Open the water fill cap. Using a measuring cup, carefully pour water into the tank up to the "MAX" fill line. Do not overfill to prevent water from coming out of the top.
2. Power Connection: Plug the iron into a standard electrical outlet. The power indicator light will illuminate when the iron is heating.

Operating Instructions

This iron offers versatile ironing and steaming options for various fabric types.

1. Temperature Selection: Rotate the large dial to select the appropriate temperature setting for your fabric. Settings include Cotton, Rayon, Linen, Wool, Polyester, Silk, Nylon, and Acrylic.
2. Steam Ironing: For steam ironing, ensure the water tank is filled. Once the iron reaches the selected temperature, steam will be generated. The Durathon soleplate glides smoothly for effective wrinkle removal.
3. Vertical Steaming: The iron can be used as a vertical steamer. Hold the iron upright and press the steam button to release a burst of steam, ideal for removing wrinkles from hanging garments.

4. Spray and Blast Functions: Use the spray button for a fine mist to dampen fabrics, and the steam blast button for an extra burst of steam on stubborn wrinkles.
5. Retractable Cord: For convenient storage, press the retractable cord button to automatically retract the 8-foot power cord into the base.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your iron.

• Self-Clean Function: Regularly use the self-clean feature to remove lint and mineral buildup from the steam vents and water tank. This extends the iron's life and prevents staining.

• Soleplate Care: The Durathon soleplate is scratch-resistant and 10 times more durable than traditional non-stick surfaces. Clean the soleplate with a damp cloth after it has cooled down. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

• Emptying Water Tank: After each use, empty any remaining water from the tank to prevent mineral buildup and leakage.
