3. Volume Control
The earpiece volume can be amplified by an additional +10 dB. During a call, use the navigation keys (up/down arrows) to adjust the earpiece volume to a comfortable level. Ringer volume can typically be adjusted through the phone's menu settings.
4. Phonebook and Direct Memory Keys
- Storing Contacts: The phonebook can store up to 20 names and numbers. Access the phonebook via the 'OK/MENU' button and follow the on-screen prompts to add new entries.
- Direct Memory Keys (M1 and M2): These two keys allow for quick dialing of frequently used numbers. To program: Press and hold M1 or M2, then enter the desired number and confirm. To use: Simply press M1 or M2 to dial the stored number directly.
5. Caller ID and Hands-Free
- Caller ID: The large, blue illuminated screen displays the caller's number (and name if stored in the phonebook) provided you have activated this service with your telephone operator.
- Hands-Free Function: During a call, press the 'Hands-Free' button (often indicated by a speaker icon) to activate the speakerphone function. Press it again to return to normal earpiece mode.
6. Three-Way Conference Call
The Duo system supports a three-way conference call feature. This allows two internal handsets to converse with an external party. Consult the on-screen menu for specific steps to initiate a conference call, typically involving placing an external call, then initiating an internal call to the second handset, and finally merging the calls.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the handset and bases. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Care: Use only the supplied rechargeable AAA NiMH batteries. If the phone will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
- Placement: Avoid placing the phone in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in areas with high humidity.
