Setup

Before powering on your BXD3000H, ensure all connections are secure and correct. This section guides you through the initial setup process.

Connecting to Power

Connect the supplied power cord to the AC input on the rear panel of the amplifier and then to a suitable wall outlet. Ensure the power switch on the front panel is in the OFF position before connecting to power.

Connecting Your Instrument

Plug your bass guitar or other compatible instrument into the INPUT jack on the front panel using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable. The BXD3000H is compatible with various bass types, including double bass, via its XLR connector type.

Connecting to a Speaker Cabinet

Connect the amplifier's speaker output to your bass speaker cabinet using a high-quality speaker cable. Ensure the impedance of your speaker cabinet matches the amplifier's output requirements. Refer to your speaker cabinet's manual for impedance information.

Footswitch Connection

Connect the included dual footswitch to the dedicated footswitch input on the rear panel. This allows for convenient switching between channels and activating the Ultrabass function during performance.

Operating Instructions

The BXD3000H offers a range of controls to shape your bass tone. Familiarize yourself with each control to achieve your desired sound.

Powering On/Off

  • To power on, ensure all volume controls are set to minimum, then press the POWER switch to the ON position.
  • To power off, set all volume controls to minimum, then press the POWER switch to the OFF position.

Channel Operation

The BXD3000H features two distinct channels:

  • Clean Channel: Use the GAIN 1 control to adjust the input sensitivity for a clean, uncolored bass tone.
  • Distortion Channel: Activate this channel for a powerful, overdriven bass sound. Use GAIN 2 to control the amount of distortion, SHAPE to sculpt the mid-range character, and LEVEL to set the output volume of the distortion channel.
  • Switch between channels using the dedicated button on the front panel or the included footswitch.

FBQ Equalizer

The 7-band graphic equalizer allows for precise tone shaping. Adjust the sliders to boost or cut specific frequencies (63 Hz, 160 Hz, 315 Hz, 630 Hz, 1.6 kHz, 2.5 kHz, 5 kHz). The FBQ Spectrum Analyzer function provides visual feedback on frequency content, helping you identify and eliminate feedback.

Compressor

The integrated compressor smooths out volume peaks and adds sustain to your bass notes. Adjust the COMPRESSOR knob to control the amount of compression applied to your signal.

Ultrabass

Engage the ULTRABASS function to add a subharmonics processor, generating an octave below your played notes for an incredibly deep and powerful low-end. Use the dedicated knob to blend the effect into your signal. This feature can also be toggled via the footswitch.

Master Volume and Headphones

  • MASTER: Controls the overall output volume of the amplifier.
  • PHONES: Connect headphones to this jack for silent practice. The headphone volume is independent of the master volume.

DI Output and FX Loop

  • DI OUT: The balanced XLR DI output allows for direct connection to a mixing console or recording interface, providing a clean signal for live sound or studio recording.
  • FX INSERT: Use the FX Insert jacks to connect external effects processors (e.g., pedals, rack units) into your signal chain.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your BXD3000H.

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the amplifier from power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings are not blocked. Adequate airflow is crucial to prevent overheating.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the amplifier in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Transportation: When transporting the unit, use appropriate protective cases to prevent physical damage.
