Operating Instructions

Once assembled, the nebulizer is ready for operation:

  1. Sit upright in a comfortable position.
  2. Turn on the compressor unit using the power switch. The compressor will begin to produce a fine mist from the nebulizer kit.
  3. If using the mouthpiece, place it between your teeth and seal your lips around it. Breathe in slowly and deeply through your mouth until all the medication is nebulized.
  4. If using a mask, place it over your nose and mouth, ensuring a snug fit. Breathe normally through the mask.
  5. Continue the treatment until the medication tank is empty or no more mist is being produced. The nebulization rate is approximately 0.4 ml per minute (without cap).
  6. After the treatment is complete, turn off the compressor unit and unplug it from the power outlet.

Virtual Valve Technology (V.V.T.)

The Omron NE C28 utilizes Virtual Valve Technology (V.V.T.) to ensure highly efficient nebulization with reduced medication wastage. Unlike conventional nebulizers where valves allow exhalation through the mouthpiece, V.V.T. allows the user to synchronize breathing with nebulization, thereby optimizing medication delivery and minimizing loss.

Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and hygienic operation of your nebulizer.

Cleaning and Disinfection:

  1. After Each Use:
    • Disconnect the nebulizer kit, mouthpiece/mask, and air tube from the compressor.
    • Discard any remaining medication.
    • Wash the nebulizer kit, mouthpiece/mask, and air tube with warm water and mild detergent.
    • Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow them to air dry completely on a clean cloth or paper towel.
  2. Daily Disinfection (if used frequently):
    • Boil the nebulizer kit, mouthpiece/mask (do not boil the air tube or compressor unit) in clean water for 15-20 minutes.
    • Alternatively, use a medical disinfectant solution as per the manufacturer's instructions.
    • Rinse thoroughly with sterile water and air dry.
  3. Compressor Unit:
    • Wipe the exterior of the compressor unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the compressor unit in water or any liquid.

Air Filter Replacement:

The nebulizer comes with 5 spare air filters. Replace the air filter approximately every 60 days of use, or sooner if it becomes discolored or clogged. A dirty filter can reduce nebulizer performance.

  1. Locate the air filter cover on the compressor unit.
  2. Remove the old filter.
  3. Insert a new, clean air filter.
  4. Replace the air filter cover.
