Setup Instructions

  1. Initial Combination: The lock box is typically set to a factory default combination (e.g., 0-0-0-0). Ensure the dials are set to this combination to open the lock box for the first time.
  2. Opening the Lock Box: With the correct combination aligned, slide the black cover down to reveal the combination dials. Then, press the release button located below the dials to open the front door of the lock box.
  3. Setting Your Own Combination:
    • Inside the open lock box, locate the reset lever on the back of the door.
    • Move the reset lever from its original position (usually 'A') to the 'B' position.
    • With the lever in the 'B' position, set your desired 4-digit combination on the dials. Choose a memorable but secure combination.
    • Return the reset lever to the 'A' position. Your new combination is now set.
    • Important: Record your new combination in a safe place.
  4. Attaching the Lock Box:
    • To open the shackle, locate the shackle release button inside the open compartment, usually near the top.
    • Press the shackle release button and pull the shackle upwards to detach it from one side of the lock box.
    • Position the lock box on a door knob, fence, or other suitable fixture. The shackle is designed to fit most ball, biscuit, and tulip door knob styles.
    • Reinsert the shackle into the lock box and ensure it clicks securely into place.

Operating Instructions

  1. Storing Keys: Place your keys or access cards inside the main compartment of the open lock box. The internal dimensions are designed to accommodate multiple standard house keys.
  2. Closing and Locking: Close the front door of the lock box firmly. Once closed, scramble the combination dials to secure the contents and prevent unauthorized access.
  3. Retrieving Keys: To open the lock box, align the dials to your preset 4-digit combination. Slide down the protective cover and press the release button to open the door.
  4. Re-securing: After retrieving or returning keys, close the door and scramble the dials immediately to maintain security.

Maintenance

  • Weather Protection: The lock box features a protective cover designed to shield the combination dials from weather elements, dirt, and grime. Ensure this cover is properly closed when not in use to maintain the longevity and functionality of the dials.
  • Material Durability: Constructed with a solid zinc body, the lock box is built for durability. The shackle is vinyl-coated to prevent scratching surfaces when attached. Regularly inspect the unit for any signs of wear or damage.
  • Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the lock box with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish or internal mechanisms.

Troubleshooting

  • Lock Box Not Opening: If the lock box does not open after entering the correct combination, ensure you are pressing in on the door firmly before attempting to open it. Some models require a slight inward pressure to release the latch.
  • Difficulty Changing Combination: Ensure the reset lever is fully moved to the 'B' position before setting a new combination and then returned completely to the 'A' position. If the lever is not fully engaged, the combination may not set correctly or may change accidentally.
  • Shackle Not Releasing: Verify that the shackle release button inside the compartment is fully depressed when attempting to remove or attach the shackle.
  • Dials Sticking: If dials become stiff or difficult to turn, ensure the protective cover is regularly used to prevent dirt and debris accumulation. A small amount of graphite lubricant (not oil-based) can be applied to the dials if necessary, but avoid over-lubrication.
