3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
The Vivitar DVR810HD requires four (4) AAA batteries for operation.
- Locate the battery compartment door, typically on the underside or rear of the camera.
- Slide or lift the door to open the compartment.
- Insert four fresh AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment door securely.
Note: Always use fresh, high-quality alkaline or rechargeable AAA batteries for optimal performance. Remove batteries if the camera will not be used for an extended period.
3.2 Memory Card Installation
An SD (Secure Digital) memory card is required to store videos and photos.
- Locate the SD card slot, usually on the side or near the battery compartment.
- Insert the SD card with the metal contacts facing the correct direction (refer to the diagram near the slot if available) until it clicks into place.
- To remove the SD card, gently push it in until it clicks, then release, and it will eject slightly.
Note: The camera has minimal internal memory. An SD card is essential for recording. Format a new SD card in the camera's settings before first use.
3.3 Initial Power On
- Press and hold the Power button until the LCD screen illuminates.
- The camera may prompt you to set the date and time. Use the navigation buttons to adjust and confirm.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Recording Video
- Turn on the camera.
- Ensure the camera is in video recording mode (indicated by an icon on the LCD screen). If not, use the Mode button to switch.
- Frame your shot using the LCD screen.
- Press the Record button once to start recording. A red indicator or timer will appear on the screen.
- Press the Record button again to stop recording. The video will be saved to the SD card.
4.2 Taking Photos
- Turn on the camera.
- Switch to still photo mode using the Mode button.
- Frame your shot.
- Press the Shutter button to capture a photo. The image will be saved to the SD card.
4.3 Playback
- Turn on the camera.
