2. Setup and Installation

Tools Required:
- Phillips head screwdriver

Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Door: Ensure your door is properly prepped for a deadbolt. Check backset, cross-bore, and edge-bore dimensions.
- Install Latch: Insert the latch into the door edge. Ensure the bolt is facing the correct direction. Secure with screws.
- Install Strike Plate: Install the strike plate on the door frame, aligning it with the latch bolt. Secure with screws.
- Install Exterior Assembly: Place the exterior keypad assembly on the door, ensuring the torque blade passes through the latch.
- Install Interior Mounting Plate: Route the wiring harness through the mounting plate and secure the plate to the exterior assembly with screws.
- Connect Wiring and Install Interior Assembly: Connect the wiring harness to the interior assembly. Align the torque blade with the turn piece shaft and secure the interior assembly to the mounting plate with screws.
- Install Batteries: Insert 4 AA batteries into the battery pack.
- Perform Door Handing Process: While holding down the Lock button on the keypad, insert the battery pack. Continue holding until the deadbolt cycles and stops, indicating successful door handing.
3. Operating Instructions
Locking the Door:
- One-Touch Locking: Press the Lock button on the keypad. The deadbolt will extend to lock the door.
- Manual Locking: From the interior, turn the thumb turn to the locked position.
Unlocking the Door:
- Using a User Code: Enter a valid 4-8 digit user code on the keypad. The deadbolt will retract to unlock the door.
- Using the Key: Insert the physical key into the keyway and turn it to unlock the door.
- Manual Unlocking: From the interior, turn the thumb turn to the unlocked position.
Programming User Codes:
- Open the door.
- Press the Program button once.
- Enter a new 4-8 digit user code.
- Press the Lock button to save the code.
- Test the new user code with the door open to ensure it works correctly.
To add additional user codes, repeat the process, pressing the Program button the corresponding number of times (e.g., twice for the second code, three times for the third, etc.).
4. Maintenance
Battery Replacement:
When the batteries are low, the lock will emit a series of beeps and the keypad will flash red. To replace the batteries:
- Remove the interior cover.
- Remove the battery pack.
- Replace all four AA batteries with new alkaline batteries.
- Reinsert the battery pack and replace the cover.
SmartKey Re-keying:
The SmartKey Security feature allows you to re-key your lock to a new key in seconds, providing convenience and enhanced security.
- Insert your functioning key (the key currently operating the lock) and turn it 90 degrees clockwise.
- Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole.
- Remove the SmartKey tool.
- Remove your functioning key.
- Insert your new key fully and firmly into the keyway.
- Turn the new key 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
- Remove the new key. The lock is now re-keyed to the new key.

- Lock not responding: Check battery levels and replace if necessary. Ensure the battery pack is properly seated.
- User code not working: Verify the code is entered correctly. Re-program the user code if unsure.
- Deadbolt not extending/retracting smoothly: Check for obstructions in the door frame or latch. Ensure the lock is properly aligned and mounted.
- Z-Wave connectivity issues: Refer to your Z-Wave hub's instructions for pairing and troubleshooting. Ensure the lock is within range of the hub.
