Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your BOSCH GRL 300 HVG Rotary Laser.
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Keep the laser output window clean to ensure optimal beam clarity.
- Battery Care: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage. Store batteries in a cool, dry place.
- Storage: Store the laser in its hard carrying case when not in use to protect it from dust, moisture, and impact. Avoid storing in extreme temperatures.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the unit for any signs of damage, especially after drops or impacts. If damage is suspected, have the unit checked by an authorized service center.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your BOSCH GRL 300 HVG, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Laser Not Powering On:
- Check if the D-cell batteries are correctly installed with proper polarity.
- Replace old or depleted batteries with fresh ones.
- Ensure the power button is fully depressed.
- Beam Not Visible or Faint:
- Ensure the laser output window is clean and free of obstructions.
- Adjust the variable-speed and scan angle settings for increased visibility.
- In bright ambient light or outdoors, the use of laser glasses (included) or a laser receiver (sold separately) is recommended to enhance visibility.
- Laser Not Self-Leveling or Flashing:
- Ensure the unit is placed on a stable and relatively level surface.
- If the unit is bumped or moved during operation, the disturbance monitor may activate, causing the laser to flash. Reposition the unit and allow it to re-level.
- Check for excessive vibrations in the work area.
