Maintenance and Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the appearance of your G-Shock watch.
- Water Resistance: This watch is water resistant to 200 meters (660 feet). It is suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports. It is not suitable for scuba diving. Do not operate buttons while the watch is wet or submerged.
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and moisture. For resin bands, a mild soap solution and a soft brush can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and drying.
- Temperature Exposure: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or strong magnetic fields.
- Chemicals: Keep the watch away from gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paints, etc. These can cause discoloration, deterioration, or damage to the resin case and band.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your watch, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
- Digital display is blank or dim: The battery may be low. Replace the battery as soon as possible. Consult an authorized CASIO service center for battery replacement.
- Analog hands do not match digital time: Perform the analog hand alignment procedure described in the "Setup and Initial Configuration" section.
- Buttons are unresponsive: Ensure the watch is not in a locked mode (if applicable) or that it is not submerged in water. If the issue persists, a reset may be required (consult a service center).
- Time is incorrect: Re-set the Home City, time zone, and DST settings. Ensure the watch is receiving proper time signals if it has an atomic timekeeping feature (GA100-1A4 does not have this feature).
