4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of your GROHE LadyLux Hose. Follow these steps carefully. It is recommended to have a 13mm open-end wrench available.
4.1 Tools Required
- 13mm open-end wrench (or adjustable wrench)
- Container to collect drainage
- Towel or cloth
4.2 Removing the Old Hose
- Turn off Water Supply: Locate and turn off the hot and cold water supply valves under the sink.
- Clear Workspace: Remove any items from under the sink to provide clear access to the faucet connections.
- Disconnect Quick-Release Coupling: Find the green or yellow quick-release coupler under the sink, which fastens the old flex-hose to the small-diameter water-line pipe. Push upwards on the quick-release fitting while simultaneously retracting its collar to release it. Have a container ready to catch any residual water.
- Unscrew Old Hose: Hold the plastic coupling in one hand and use the 13mm wrench on the flats of the old chrome hose fitting to unfasten the two. Save the long, slinky spring encasing the old hose for re-use.
- Remove Spray Faucet Handle: Pull the spray faucet handle to pull the hose up through the bottom of the sink. The end of the hose may be bulky; you might need to push it up through the hole.
- Detach from Faucet Neck: If the bulky end gets stuck in the curved neck of the faucet, gently pull up on the curved faucet neck to remove it. It typically detaches where a seam is visible. This trick makes it easier to remove the hose.
- Separate Spray Faucet: Unscrew the spray faucet from the old hose.
4.3 Installing the New Hose
- Attach Nozzle: Screw the faucet nozzle onto the new hose. Hand-tighten only.
- Thread Hose: Thread the new hose through the goose neck of the faucet and down into the sink cabinet.
- Re-seat Faucet Neck: Push the faucet goose neck back into its place; it should snap on easily.
- Slide Spring: Slide the original slinky spring (saved from the old hose) back over the new flex-hose length.
- Connect Coupler: Reattach the plastic quick-release coupler to the threaded end of the new flex-hose and tighten using the 13mm wrench.
- Reattach to Water Line: Reattach the entire assembly to the water line using the quick-couple mechanism.
- Restore Water Supply: Turn the hot and cold water supply valves back on.
- Test for Leaks: Check all connections for any leaks.

5. Operating Instructions
The GROHE 46092000 LadyLux Hose functions as a replacement part for your pull-out kitchen faucet. Once installed, operate your faucet as usual. The hose allows the spray head to be pulled out from the faucet body for extended reach and flexibility during use.
- Pull-Out Function: Gently pull the spray head downwards to extend the hose.
- Retraction: After use, guide the spray head back into the faucet body. The weight attached to the hose underneath the sink assists in smooth retraction.
6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your GROHE LadyLux Hose, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Regular Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the hose and spray head regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the StarLight Chrome finish.
- Inspect for Wear: Periodically inspect the hose for any signs of wear, kinks, or damage. If significant wear is observed, consider replacing the hose to prevent leaks.
- Check Connections: Occasionally check the connections under the sink to ensure they remain tight and free of leaks.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your GROHE LadyLux Hose, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Leakage at Connections:
- Ensure all connections (at the spray head and the quick-release coupler) are securely tightened.
- Check if the O-rings or gaskets are properly seated and not damaged. Replace if necessary.
- Hose Not Retracting Smoothly:
- Verify that the weight attached to the hose underneath the sink is correctly positioned and not obstructed.
- Check for any kinks or twists in the hose that might impede its movement.
- Reduced Water Flow from Spray Head:
- This issue is typically related to the spray head itself or the faucet, not the hose. Check the spray head for mineral buildup and clean it if necessary.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact GROHE customer support for further assistance.
