Introduction
The Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier with UV Light (Model V3900) is designed to provide cleaner moisture for your family. This evaporative humidifier features a 1.0-gallon tank and an ultraviolet chamber that treats the water, ensuring a cleaner mist. A wicking filter captures and removes minerals and impurities, contributing to improved air quality. Increasing humidity levels can create a more comfortable sleep environment, especially when the air is dry, during allergy season, or when experiencing cold symptoms. This unit is suitable for medium rooms up to 400 square feet and is compatible with Vicks VapoPads for soothing scented vapors.

Maintenance
Regular cleaning is essential to maintain the efficiency and hygiene of your Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier. Descaling and disinfecting should be performed weekly.
- Before Cleaning: Always turn off the humidifier and unplug it from the power outlet. Remove the water tank, filter, and any VapoPads.
- Descaling: Pour 2 cups of undiluted distilled white vinegar into the water tank. Replace the tank cap and swish the solution gently in circles to wet the entire inside of the tank. Place the tank on the base, allowing the vinegar to drain into the water reservoir. Let it soak for 20 minutes. After soaking, empty the vinegar solution from the tank and rinse thoroughly with water until the vinegar smell is gone. Carefully rinse the base, ensuring no water enters the fan grill.
- Disinfecting: Mix 1 gallon of water with 1 teaspoon of bleach. Pour the bleach solution into the water tank. Replace the cap and swish the solution to wet the entire inside. Place the tank on the base and let it soak for 20 minutes. Empty the solution and rinse with water until the bleach smell is gone. Empty and rinse the base, ensuring no water enters the fan grill.
- Filter Replacement: The wicking filter (Model WF2) should be replaced every 30-60 days, depending on water quality and usage. If the filter becomes hard and crusty, or if moisture output is decreased, it's time for a replacement.
