2. Setup

The MMD4E meter requires one 9V battery (included). To install or replace the battery:

3. Operating Instructions

Press the yellow power button (⑁) to turn the meter on. Press and hold the power button to turn it off.
3.2 Mode Selection
The MMD4E has two measurement modes: Wood and Building Materials. Press the MODE button to toggle between these two settings.
- Wood Mode: Measures moisture content in wood from 5% to 50%.
- Building Material Mode: Measures moisture content in materials like concrete and drywall from 1.5% to 33%.

3.3 Taking Measurements
To obtain a moisture reading:
- Ensure the correct mode (Wood or Building) is selected for the material you are testing.
- Carefully push the two stainless steel pins into the surface of the material. Ensure both pins are fully inserted for an accurate reading.
- The moisture percentage will be displayed on the backlit LCD screen.

- Digital Display: Shows the exact moisture percentage. The large 0.3" high digits are easy to read, even in low light conditions due to the backlight.

- LOW (Blue LED): Indicates low moisture content.

Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display. This is useful when taking measurements in hard-to-reach areas where the display cannot be easily viewed directly. Press the HOLD button again to release the reading.
