2. Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety warnings before operating the Rat Zapper Classic. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or injury.
- Keep away from children and pets: This device delivers a high-voltage shock. Ensure it is placed in locations inaccessible to children and household pets.
- Indoor use only: Do not use this trap outdoors or in areas where it may be exposed to water or moisture. Water can damage the electronics and create a shock hazard.
- Do not touch metal plates: Avoid touching the internal metal plates when the trap is powered on.
- Use caution with bait: When baiting, ensure the trap is turned off and use a non-conductive tool to place bait.
- Battery safety: Use only the specified battery type and ensure correct polarity. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types. Remove batteries if the trap will not be used for an extended period.

6. Operating Instructions
Once the trap is set up, follow these steps for operation:
- Turn On the Trap:
Locate the ON/OFF switch on the top of the trap and slide it to the 'ON' position. A green LED light will blink once to indicate that the trap is active and functioning correctly.

- Rodent Detection and Elimination:
When a rodent enters the trap and steps on the metal plates, the smart circuit technology senses its presence and delivers a continuous high-voltage shock for 2 minutes. This ensures a humane and effective kill.
- LED Alerts:
A blinking green LED light on the top of the trap will notify you of a catch. This allows you to know when it's time to empty the trap without needing to manually check inside.

- Rodent Disposal (No-Touch):
To dispose of a caught rodent, first turn the trap OFF. Then, simply tip the trap over a trash receptacle to release the rodent without needing to touch it. The kill chamber contains the rodent, keeping it out of sight until disposal.

- Resetting the Trap:
After disposal, you can re-bait and turn the trap back ON for continued use.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and effectiveness of your Rat Zapper Classic:
- Cleaning: After each use, it is generally recommended to avoid washing the interior of the trap. The scent of previous catches can attract other rodents, making the trap more effective. If cleaning is necessary, wipe the interior with a dry cloth. Do not immerse the trap in water or use wet cleaning methods.
- Battery Replacement: A red light will blink when the battery power is low, indicating it's time to replace the batteries. Replace all 4 'AA' batteries simultaneously with fresh ones.
8. Troubleshooting
If your Rat Zapper Classic is not functioning as expected, consider the following:
- Trap not turning on: Ensure batteries are correctly installed with proper polarity and are not depleted. Replace with fresh batteries if necessary.
- No blinking green light after turning on: This indicates the trap is not active. Check battery installation and power switch position.
- Rodents not entering the trap: Ensure the trap is placed in an area of high rodent activity, along a wall. Try different types of bait to attract rodents. Ensure the bait is placed at the very back of the trap.
- Rodents escaping or not being killed: Ensure the bait is placed far enough inside the trap so the rodent must fully enter and step on the metal plates. Ensure batteries are not low, as this can affect the shock strength.
