4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Before You Begin
- Check TV Compatibility: Ensure your TV's VESA mounting pattern (horizontal x vertical) is within the range of 58mm (min) to 750mm (max) horizontally and 75mm (min) to 450mm (max) vertically. The wall mount supports TVs from 36" to 63".
- Identify Wall Type: This mount is designed for installation on wood studs or solid concrete walls. Do not install on drywall alone.
- Gather Tools: You will need a drill, stud finder (for wood studs), level, tape measure, pencil, and a screwdriver/wrench.
4.2 Wall Plate Installation
The wall plate itself measures 32" wide x 8 7/8" high.

For Wood Stud Walls:
- Locate the edges of two adjacent wood studs using a stud finder. Mark the center of each stud.
- Position the wall plate at the desired height on the wall, ensuring it is level. Mark the pilot hole locations on the studs.
- Drill pilot holes into the center of the marked stud locations.
- Attach the wall plate to the wall using the provided lag bolts and washers. Tighten securely, but do not overtighten.
For Solid Concrete Walls:
- Position the wall plate at the desired height on the wall, ensuring it is level. Mark the pilot hole locations.
- Drill pilot holes into the concrete using a masonry drill bit.
- Insert the concrete anchors into the drilled holes, ensuring they are flush with the wall surface.
- Attach the wall plate to the wall using the provided lag bolts and washers. Tighten securely.
4.3 Attaching TV to Mount
- Carefully place your TV face down on a soft, clean surface.
- Attach the two TV brackets to the back of your TV using the appropriate screws, washers, and spacers from the hardware kit. Ensure the brackets are centered and securely fastened to the TV's VESA mounting holes.
- With assistance, carefully lift the TV and hook the TV brackets onto the top edge of the wall plate.
- Gently lower the TV until the brackets are fully seated on the wall plate.
- Secure the TV to the wall plate by tightening the safety screws located at the bottom of the TV brackets.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Adjusting Tilt
The Brateck WALLM14-1704 mount allows for a variable downward tilt from 0° to -15°.
- Locate the tilt adjustment knobs or bolts on the side of the TV brackets.
- Loosen the knobs/bolts sufficiently to allow the TV to tilt freely.
- Carefully tilt the TV to your desired viewing angle.
- Once the desired angle is achieved, tighten the knobs/bolts firmly to secure the TV in position.
6. Maintenance
- Periodically check that all screws and connections are secure. Retighten if necessary.
- Clean the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspect the mount for any signs of wear or damage. If damage is observed, discontinue use and contact the manufacturer.
7. Troubleshooting
- TV is not level: Ensure the wall plate was installed level. If the wall plate is level, check that the TV brackets are attached evenly to the TV. Minor adjustments can sometimes be made by slightly loosening and re-tightening the TV bracket screws.
- Difficulty tilting the TV: Ensure the tilt adjustment knobs/bolts are sufficiently loosened. If they are too tight, the TV will not tilt. If they are too loose, the TV may not hold its position.
- Mount feels unstable: Immediately remove the TV from the mount. Re-check all wall plate and TV bracket connections. Ensure the wall type is appropriate and that all fasteners are securely tightened into studs or concrete anchors. Do not re-mount the TV until stability is confirmed.
