- Locate the battery compartment cover, typically on the underside or side of the device.

For extended observation periods or when maximum stability is required, the NightSpy 3x42 can be mounted on a standard photographic tripod.

6.4. Observation Tips
- For best results, allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness before using the device.
- Avoid pointing the device at bright lights (e.g., car headlights, streetlights) as this can cause temporary image washout and potentially damage the intensifier tube over time.
- The image seen through the night vision device will typically be green, which is characteristic of Gen 1 image intensifier tubes.
7. Maintenance
7.1. Cleaning
- Lenses: Use the provided lens cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optics. Gently wipe the lens surfaces to remove dust or smudges. For stubborn marks, a small amount of lens cleaning fluid can be applied to the cloth (not directly to the lens).
- Body: Wipe the body of the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
7.2. Storage
- When not in use, store the device in its carrying case to protect it from dust, moisture, and impacts.
- Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent battery leakage and potential damage.
