3. Setup and Installation

To establish proper communication between the sensor and your display unit, follow these steps carefully:

1. Initial Placement: Bring both the sensor and the display unit indoors. Place them 3-5 feet apart with no obstructions between them.
2. Remove Batteries: Remove all batteries from both the sensor and the display unit.
3. Clear Memory: On the display unit, press any button at least 20 times to clear its memory. Verify that the display is blank before proceeding.
4. Install Sensor Batteries: Using good quality alkaline batteries (2 AA, not included), install them into the remote sensor. Ensure correct polarity according to the diagrams in the battery compartment.
5. Install Display Unit Batteries: Without pressing any buttons, reinstall batteries into the display unit, observing correct polarity.

• Signal Transmission: Ensure there are no major obstructions like large metal objects or dense foliage directly between the sensor and the display unit, as these can interfere with the 915 MHz signal.
• Mounting: Use the provided mounting bracket and screws to securely attach the sensor to a wall or post.

4. Battery Installation and Replacement

The TX29U-IT sensor requires 2 AA alkaline batteries (not included).

1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the sensor.
2. Insert two fresh AA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4. When replacing batteries in the sensor, it is recommended to also remove and reinstall batteries in the display unit, following the full setup procedure (Section 3) to re-establish a strong connection.

5. Operation

Once successfully paired with your compatible La Crosse Technology display unit, the TX29U-IT sensor will continuously transmit temperature data.
