1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use of your Sealey SA22 Air Operated Flat Bed Sander. 2. Safety Instructions

4. Setup

4.1. Air Supply Connection

  1. Ensure the air compressor is turned off and the air line is depressurized.
  2. Connect a suitable air hose (minimum 3/8" I.D.) to the air inlet of the sander. It is recommended to use an in-line air filter/lubricator unit to ensure clean, lubricated air.
  3. Set the air pressure regulator on your compressor to the recommended operating pressure (typically 90 psi / 6.2 bar). Do not exceed the maximum operating pressure.

4.2. Attaching Sanding Sheets

The SA22 uses standard flat sanding sheets. To attach a sheet:

  1. Release the clamping levers on both ends of the sanding pad.
  2. Insert one end of the sanding sheet under the clamp and secure it.
  3. Stretch the sanding sheet taut over the pad and insert the other end under the second clamp, securing it firmly.
  4. Ensure the sheet is flat and wrinkle-free on the sanding pad.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. General Operation

  1. Ensure all safety precautions are followed and the workpiece is securely fastened.
  2. Connect the air supply.
  3. Hold the sander firmly with one hand, placing your palm over the trigger mechanism.
  4. Place the sanding pad flat against the surface to be sanded.
  5. Depress the palm trigger to start the sander.
  6. Move the sander in a smooth, overlapping pattern across the surface. Avoid applying excessive pressure; let the tool do the work.
  7. Release the trigger to stop the sander.
  8. Disconnect the air supply when finished or before making adjustments.
