Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly attach the PM-7002 Tool Mounts to your power tool and then to a compatible Portamate stand.
Attaching Mounts to Your Power Tool
- Prepare the Tool: Ensure your power tool is unplugged and stable on a workbench. Identify the mounting holes on the base of your tool.
- Position Mounts: Place one PM-7002 tool mount on each side of your power tool's base, aligning the slots or holes on the mounts with the mounting holes on your tool.
- Secure Mounts: Use appropriate bolts, washers, and nuts (typically supplied with your power tool or the Portamate mounts) to securely fasten the mounts to the tool. Ensure all fasteners are tightened firmly to prevent any movement during operation.
- Check Stability: Gently shake the tool to confirm the mounts are securely attached and there is no wobble.

Attaching Tool to Portamate Stand
- Position Tool: Carefully lift your power tool with the attached PM-7002 mounts and align the mounts with the rails of your Portamate miter saw stand.
- Engage Locking Mechanism: Slide the tool mounts onto the stand's rails until they click into place or the locking levers can be engaged. Ensure both mounts are fully seated and locked onto the stand.
- Verify Security: Before operating, gently push and pull on the tool to confirm it is firmly locked onto the stand and cannot accidentally dislodge.

Operating Instructions
The PM-7002 mounts are designed for quick tool changes. Once your power tool is secured to the mounts, and the mounts are attached to your Portamate stand, you can begin operation.
To Detach a Tool:
- Ensure Safety: Unplug the power tool and ensure all moving parts have come to a complete stop.
- Release Locks: Locate the quick-release levers or mechanisms on both PM-7002 mounts. Engage these mechanisms to unlock the mounts from the stand's rails.
- Lift Tool: Carefully lift the power tool straight up from the stand.
To Attach a Different Tool:
Repeat the "Attaching Tool to Portamate Stand" steps from the Setup section for any other power tool equipped with PM-7002 mounts.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your PM-7002 Tool Mounts.
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the mounts to remove sawdust, debris, and grime. A damp cloth is usually sufficient. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the finish or plastic components.
- Inspect Fasteners: Regularly check all bolts, nuts, and screws that secure the mounts to your power tool. Tighten any loose fasteners to maintain stability.
- Inspect Locking Mechanisms: Ensure the quick-release levers and clamping components operate smoothly and engage securely. If any part appears worn or damaged, consider replacement.
- Storage: When not in use, store the mounts (either attached to tools or separately) in a clean, dry environment to prevent rust or damage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your PM-7002 Tool Mounts, consider the following:
- Tool Wobbles on Stand:
- Ensure the quick-release levers are fully engaged and locked.
- Verify that the mounts are securely fastened to the power tool's base. Tighten all bolts.
- Check if the Portamate stand's rails are clean and free of obstructions.
- Difficulty Attaching/Detaching:
- Ensure the quick-release levers are fully disengaged when detaching.
- Check for any debris or damage on the mounts or stand rails that might impede smooth operation.
- Confirm the tool is aligned correctly with the stand rails before attempting to slide it on.
- Mounts do not fit stand:
- Verify that your stand is a compatible Portamate model (refer to the Compatibility section). These mounts are not universal for all brands or models.
