Setup
Battery Installation
The Casio PQ-30B-1EF Alarm Clock requires two LR44 batteries for operation. These batteries are typically included with the product, often packaged separately within the box.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the alarm clock.
- Using a small screwdriver or a coin, carefully open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert the two LR44 batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals are aligned correctly as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it.

Initial Time Setting
After installing the batteries, the display will activate. You will need to set the current time.

- Locate the mode switch on the front panel. It typically has positions like "NORM", "TM SET", and "AL SET".
- Slide the mode switch to the "TM SET" position. The hour digits on the display will begin to flash.
- Press the "HR" button repeatedly to advance the hour. Pay attention to the AM/PM indicator if using 12-hour format.
- Press the "MIN" button repeatedly to advance the minute.
- Once the correct time is set, slide the mode switch back to the "NORM" position to save the time and return to normal display mode.
Operating Instructions
Setting the Alarm Time
- Slide the mode switch to the "AL SET" position. The alarm hour digits will flash.
- Press the "HR" button to set the desired alarm hour.
- Press the "MIN" button to set the desired alarm minute.
- Slide the mode switch back to the "NORM" position to save the alarm time.
Activating/Deactivating the Alarm
To turn the alarm on or off, use the "AL ON / AL OFF" switch, typically located near the mode switch.
- Slide the switch to "AL ON" to activate the alarm. An alarm indicator (e.g., a bell icon) will appear on the display.
- Slide the switch to "AL OFF" to deactivate the alarm. The alarm indicator will disappear.
Using the Snooze/Light Function
The large "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button at the top of the clock serves two purposes:
- Light: Press this button briefly at any time to illuminate the display for a few seconds.
- Snooze: When the alarm is sounding, press this button to temporarily stop the alarm. The alarm will sound again after a few minutes (typically 5-10 minutes, depending on the model).
To stop the alarm completely after it sounds (without snoozing), slide the "AL ON / AL OFF" switch to "AL OFF" or change the mode switch to "TM SET" or "AL SET" and then back to "NORM".
Changing 12/24-Hour Format
To switch between 12-hour (with AM/PM indicator) and 24-hour (military time) display formats, press the "12HR/24HR" button, usually located on the front panel.

Maintenance
Cleaning
To clean the alarm clock, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the casing and electronic components. Avoid exposing the clock to excessive moisture.
Battery Replacement
When the display becomes dim or the alarm sound weakens, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the "Battery Installation" steps outlined in the Setup section. Always replace both LR44 batteries at the same time with new ones. Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.
