Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the vaporizer from its packaging.
- Separate Components: The unit consists of a base (water reservoir) and a heating unit/lid. Twist the blue top counter-clockwise to unlock and lift the heating unit from the base.
- Fill Water Reservoir: Fill the white base with cool tap water up to the 'MAX' fill line indicated on the side of the unit. Do not overfill, as this can cause water to overflow when the heating unit is inserted.
- Add VapoSteam (Optional): If desired, pour Vicks VapoSteam liquid into the designated liquid inhalant reservoir on the blue heating unit.
- Insert VapoPads (Optional): Slide Vicks VapoPads into the slots on the top of the blue heating unit.
- Reassemble: Place the heating unit back onto the water-filled base, aligning the tabs. Twist clockwise to lock it securely in place.
- Position: Place the vaporizer on a firm, level, water-resistant surface at least 12 inches (30 cm) away from walls. Ensure it is out of reach of children and pets. It is recommended to place the unit on a towel or waterproof mat to protect surfaces from potential moisture.

Maintenance
Regular cleaning is crucial to ensure optimal performance and hygiene of your Vicks Warm Steam Vaporizer. Mineral deposits from water can build up over time and affect steam output.
- Daily Cleaning: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely. Disassemble the heating unit from the base. Empty any remaining water from the reservoir. Rinse the water reservoir and heating unit thoroughly with fresh water. Wipe down all surfaces with a clean cloth.
- Weekly Cleaning (or as needed): To remove mineral deposits, fill the water reservoir with 1 cup of undiluted white vinegar. Let it stand for 20 minutes. Pour out the vinegar. Dip a soft brush or cloth in undiluted white vinegar and scrub any remaining deposits on the heating unit. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water until the vinegar smell is gone.
- Descaling Heating Elements: If mineral deposits are severe on the heating elements, soak the heating unit in a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water for 20-30 minutes. Gently scrub with a brush if needed. Rinse thoroughly.
- Drying: Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling or storing the unit.
Troubleshooting
No Steam or Low Steam Output:
- Check Water Level: Ensure the water reservoir is filled to the 'MAX' line.
- Add Salt (if water is soft): If your tap water has low mineral content (soft water), the vaporizer may not produce sufficient steam. Add 1 to 2 dashes (1/8 tsp) of table salt to the water and wait 10 minutes. If still not steaming, add another dash or two, up to 1/2 tsp or 8 dashes, as needed. Salt will build up over time, eliminating the need to add it before each use.
- Clean Mineral Deposits: Hard water can cause mineral buildup on the heating elements, reducing efficiency. Refer to the Maintenance section for cleaning instructions.
- Ensure Proper Assembly: Make sure the heating unit is securely locked onto the base.

Water Leaking:
- Do Not Overfill: Ensure water is not filled above the 'MAX' line.
- Secure Lid: Make sure the heating unit is properly seated and locked onto the base.
- Level Surface: Always place the vaporizer on a firm, level surface.
