Operating Instructions
1. Preparing Fruits and Vegetables
- Wash all produce thoroughly.
- Cut fruits and vegetables into pieces small enough to fit comfortably into the feed chute. Remove large seeds (e.g., peach pits) and hard cores (e.g., pineapple core).
- For citrus fruits, peel them before juicing.
2. Juicing Process
- Ensure the juicer is properly assembled and the lid is securely locked.
- Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
- Turn the juicer ON using the switch on the motor base. The Juiceman Jr. features a 2-speed capability for different produce types. Select the appropriate speed: a lower speed for softer fruits and a higher speed for harder vegetables.
- Gradually feed the prepared produce into the feed chute. Use the food pusher to gently guide the produce down. Do not force the produce, as this can strain the motor and reduce juice yield.
- The fresh juice will flow out of the juice spout into your collection container, and the pulp will accumulate in the pulp receptacle.
- When finished juicing, turn the juicer OFF and unplug it from the outlet.
Note: The large capacity pulp receptacle allows for continuous juicing. For easier cleaning, you may line the pulp receptacle with a plastic grocery bag.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and hygienic operation of your juicer. Clean the appliance immediately after each use.
- Turn the juicer OFF and unplug it from the power outlet.
- Disengage the safety latches and remove the lid.
- Carefully remove the filter basket and pulp receptacle.
- Discard the pulp from the receptacle.
- Wash the food pusher, lid, filter basket, and pulp receptacle in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. A brush may be helpful for cleaning the micro-mesh filter basket.
- Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth. Never immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid.
- Dry all parts completely before reassembling or storing.
Dishwasher Safety: While some components may be considered dishwasher safe, hand washing is generally recommended to preserve the life and finish of all parts, especially the delicate micro-mesh filter basket.
