5. Installation and Setup

5.1 Initial Inspection

Before installation, carefully inspect the packaging and the ESS unit for any signs of damage. Ensure all components listed in the packing list are present.

5.2 Electrical Connections

  1. Power Off: Ensure all connected systems (inverter, solar panels) are powered off before making any connections.
  2. Connectors: Use the provided 250A Self-Locking Fitting Quick Release Connectors for secure power connections. Connect the positive (+) terminal of the ESS to the positive input of your inverter, and the negative (-) terminal to the negative input.
  3. Communication: Connect the appropriate communication cables (RS485, CAN, RS232) between the ESS communication board and your inverter or monitoring system. Refer to your inverter's manual for specific communication port requirements.
  4. Grounding: Ensure the ESS unit is properly grounded according to local electrical codes.
  5. Air Switch: Ensure the "BAT SWITCH" is in the OFF position during connection.

5.3 Parallel Connection (Optional)

The Tewaycell ESS supports parallel connection of up to 15 units to expand capacity. When connecting multiple batteries in parallel, follow the wiring diagram carefully to ensure correct and safe operation. Each battery unit should be connected to a common busbar or distribution block, and communication lines should be daisy-chained or connected to a central communication hub as per the diagram.
