Setup and Assembly

1. Attaching the Auxiliary Handle

The 360° rotatable auxiliary handle provides better control and comfort. To attach or adjust:

  1. Loosen the handle clamp by twisting it counter-clockwise.
  2. Slide the handle onto the front of the drill body to your desired position.
  3. Rotate the handle to the most comfortable working angle.
  4. Tighten the handle clamp by twisting it clockwise until secure.

2. Installing Drill Bits / Chisels (SDS Chuck)

The SDS chuck allows for quick and secure bit changes.

  1. Ensure the drill is unplugged from the power source.
  2. Pull back the chuck collar towards the tool body.
  3. Insert the SDS Plus drill bit or chisel into the chuck until it clicks into place. The bit should have a slight amount of play (movement in and out) which is normal for SDS systems.
  4. Release the chuck collar. Gently pull on the bit to ensure it is securely locked.
  5. To remove, pull back the chuck collar and pull the bit out.

  • Hammer Drilling Mode: For drilling in concrete, stone, and bricks with alloy drill bits.
  • Drilling Mode: For drilling or reaming metal plates and wood boards.
  • Chiseling Mode: For grooving the surface of concrete or breaking stones and concrete.
  • Angle Adjustment Mode: Only for adjusting the angle of flat chisel bits.

To switch modes, rotate the 2-IN-1 knob to the desired setting. Ensure it clicks firmly into place.

3. Drilling Operations

  1. Select the appropriate drill bit for your material.
  2. Set the tool to either 'Drilling Mode' (for wood/metal) or 'Hammer Drilling Mode' (for concrete/masonry).
  3. Hold the tool firmly with both hands, using the auxiliary handle for stability.
  4. Position the drill bit on the workpiece.
  5. Start the drill and apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the tool.

4. Chiseling Operations

  1. Install the appropriate chisel bit (pointed or flat).
  2. Set the tool to 'Chiseling Mode'.
  3. For angle adjustment of the chisel, switch to 'Angle Adjustment Mode', set the desired angle, then switch back to 'Chiseling Mode'.
  4. Hold the tool firmly and position the chisel on the material to be broken or grooved.
  5. Start the tool and guide it along the desired path, allowing the hammering action to do the work.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • Always unplug the tool before cleaning.
  • Regularly clean the ventilation openings (Upgrade Air Outlet) to prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or compressed air.
  • Wipe the tool housing with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Clean the SDS chuck regularly to ensure smooth bit changes and prevent dust buildup.

2. Lubrication

The tool features an anti-leakage cap for adding lubricating oil, which is crucial for continuous performance and tool longevity.

  • Periodically check the oil level.
  • To add lubricant, unscrew the anti-leakage cap.
  • Add a small amount of appropriate lubricating oil (e.g., grease for hammer drills) as needed. Do not overfill.
  • Securely replace the cap.

3. Carbon Brush Replacement

Carbon brushes are wear parts and need to be replaced when worn out. Spare carbon brushes are included in your kit.

  1. Unplug the tool from the power source.
  2. Locate the carbon brush caps on the sides of the motor housing.
  3. Unscrew the caps using a screwdriver.
  4. Remove the old carbon brushes.
  5. Insert the new carbon brushes, ensuring they are oriented correctly.
  6. Replace and tighten the carbon brush caps.

4. Storage

  • Store the tool and accessories in the provided plastic carrying case.
  • Keep the tool in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children.
  • Protect the tool from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your rotary hammer drill, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Tool does not startNo power supply; Faulty power cord/plug; Worn carbon brushesCheck power outlet and connections; Inspect power cord; Replace carbon brushes
Reduced power/performanceWorn carbon brushes; Insufficient lubrication; OverheatingReplace carbon brushes; Add lubricant; Allow tool to cool down; Clean air vents
Bit not rotating or hammeringIncorrect mode selected; Bit not properly inserted; Internal mechanism issueCheck mode selector; Re-insert bit securely; Contact service center if problem persists
Excessive vibration or noiseDamaged bit; Loose components; Internal wearReplace damaged bit; Check for loose parts and tighten; Contact service center
OverheatingBlocked air vents; Prolonged heavy useClean air vents; Allow tool to rest and cool; Reduce load

User Tips

  • Pre-Drill for Large Holes: For very large diameter holes in tough materials, consider drilling a smaller pilot hole first to reduce strain on the tool and bit.
  • Let the Tool Do the Work: Avoid applying excessive pressure. The hammer action is designed to break through material efficiently; forcing it can lead to premature wear and reduced effectiveness.
  • Regularly Check Bits: Inspect drill bits and chisels for wear or damage before each use. Dull or damaged bits can reduce efficiency and increase the risk of kickback.
  • Clean After Each Use: A quick clean of the chuck and air vents after each project will significantly extend the life of your tool.
  • Use Appropriate PPE: Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves. When working with concrete or masonry, a dust mask is highly recommended.
