3.3 Initial Configuration (Router/AP Mode)

The FENVI AX3000 can operate in Router or Access Point (AP) mode. Router mode is ideal for creating a new network, while AP mode converts your wired network into a wireless one, extending an existing network's Wi-Fi coverage.

  1. Ensure your router is powered on and connected as described in Section 3.2.
  2. Connect your computer or mobile device to the router's default Wi-Fi network (SSID and password usually found on a sticker on the router). Alternatively, connect your computer to a LAN port using an Ethernet cable.
  3. Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) or domain name (e.g., routerlogin.net) provided in the Quick Installation Guide.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your internet connection, Wi-Fi name (SSID), and password. You will typically be prompted to choose between Router or AP mode during this initial setup.

3.4 Easy Mesh Network Setup

The FENVI AX3000 supports Easy Mesh, allowing you to create a high-speed, whole-home Wi-Fi experience with a single Wi-Fi name and unified management. This is ideal for extending coverage seamlessly across larger homes or multiple floors.

  1. Set up your primary FENVI AX3000 router as described in Section 3.3.
  2. Place additional FENVI AX3000 units (or compatible Mesh extenders) in areas where you need extended Wi-Fi coverage.
  3. Power on the additional Mesh units.
  4. Press the MESH button on your primary router and then on the additional Mesh unit(s) within a short timeframe (refer to the Quick Installation Guide for exact timing). The devices will automatically connect and form a unified Mesh network.
  5. Verify the Mesh connection through the router's web interface or mobile app (if available).

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Dual-Band Operation

The FENVI AX3000 operates on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands. It automatically selects the optimal band for your devices, providing higher speeds and less interference on the 5GHz band for compatible devices, while maintaining broader coverage with the 2.4GHz band.

  • 2.4GHz Band: Offers wider coverage and better penetration through walls, suitable for older devices or those further from the router. Max speed up to 574Mbps.
  • 5GHz Band: Provides faster speeds and lower latency, ideal for gaming, streaming, and newer devices closer to the router. Max speed up to 2402Mbps.

4.2 Advanced Wireless Features

  • WiFi 6 (802.11AX): The latest Wi-Fi standard offering higher speeds, lower latency, and increased capacity for more devices.
  • WPA3 Encryption: Provides enhanced security for your wireless network, protecting your data from unauthorized access.
  • MU-MIMO & OFDMA: These technologies allow the router to communicate with multiple devices simultaneously and efficiently, reducing waiting time and improving overall network performance.
  • 1024-QAM: Enables more data to be encoded at one time, contributing to higher wireless speeds.
  • 160MHz Bandwidth: Increases data throughput for compatible devices, leading to faster connections.
  • Integrated 4 Signal Amplifiers: Includes Power Amplifiers (PA) to issue enhanced signals and Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA) to amplify received signals, improving coverage and signal strength.
  • IPv6 Support: Shortens latency and provides a faster, more efficient network experience.

4.3 WPS Function

The WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button allows you to easily connect WPS-compatible devices to your wireless network without manually entering the Wi-Fi password. Simply press the WPS button on the router and then activate WPS on your device within two minutes.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Factory Reset

If you encounter persistent issues or wish to clear all configurations, you can perform a factory reset:

  1. With the router powered on, locate the RST (Reset) button on the rear panel (refer to Figure 3).
  2. Use a paperclip or a thin object to press and hold the RST button for approximately 5-10 seconds until the router's indicator lights flash.
  3. Release the button. The router will restart with its factory default settings. You will need to reconfigure it as per Section 3.3.

5.2 Firmware Updates

Regularly check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates. Firmware updates can improve performance, add new features, and enhance security. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update package carefully.

5.3 Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance, keep the router clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 No Internet Connection

  • Check all cable connections (power, WAN, LAN) to ensure they are secure.
  • Verify that your modem is working correctly and has an active internet connection.
  • Restart both your modem and the FENVI AX3000 router.
  • Log into the router's web interface and check the WAN status. Ensure your internet service provider (ISP) settings are correctly configured.

6.2 Slow Wi-Fi Speed or Poor Signal

  • Router Placement: Position the router in a central location, away from obstructions (thick walls, metal objects) and interference sources (microwaves, cordless phones).
  • Band Selection: Ensure your devices are connecting to the 5GHz band for higher speeds if they are close to the router and support it.
  • Interference: Other wireless devices or neighboring Wi-Fi networks can cause interference. Try changing the Wi-Fi channel in the router's settings.
  • Device Overload: Too many devices actively using the network can slow it down. The AX3000's MU-MIMO and OFDMA help, but extreme loads can still impact performance.
  • Firmware: Ensure your router's firmware is up to date.

6.3 Mesh Network Issues

  • Proximity: Ensure Mesh units are placed within a reasonable range of each other and the main router for optimal signal strength.
  • Re-pairing: If a Mesh unit loses connection, try re-pairing it by pressing the MESH button on both the main router and the affected unit.
  • Firmware Consistency: Ensure all Mesh units have the same or compatible firmware versions.

6.4 Does it support Repeater Mode?

While the FENVI AX3000 does not explicitly list a 'Repeater Mode' as a standalone feature, its 'AP Mode' (Access Point Mode) and 'Easy Mesh Mode' provide similar functionality for extending wireless coverage:

  • AP Mode: In Access Point mode, the router converts a wired internet connection into a wireless one, effectively extending the Wi-Fi signal of your existing network. This functions similarly to a traditional repeater but typically requires a wired backhaul to the main router.
  • Easy Mesh Mode: For seamless whole-home Wi-Fi, the Easy Mesh feature allows multiple AX3000 units to work together under a single Wi-Fi name, providing extended coverage and seamless roaming. This is the recommended method for expanding your wireless network with multiple FENVI AX3000 devices.

7. User Tips

  • Leverage Dual-Band: For devices that support it, prioritize connecting to the 5GHz band for activities requiring high bandwidth like 4K streaming or online gaming. Use the 2.4GHz band for general browsing and devices further away.
  • Utilize Easy Mesh: If you have a large home or multiple floors, consider purchasing additional FENVI AX3000 units to create an Easy Mesh network. This provides superior coverage and a single, unified Wi-Fi experience compared to traditional range extenders.
  • Secure Your Network: Always use a strong, unique password for your Wi-Fi network and enable WPA3 encryption for the best security.
  • Regular Reboots: Occasionally restarting your router (unplugging for 10 seconds and plugging back in) can help clear temporary glitches and improve performance.

8. Warranty and Support
