4. Installation and Setup
4.1 Pre-Installation Requirements:
- Applicable Door Types: Wood door, Iron door, Copper door, Anti-theft door.
- Applicable Door Thickness: 40-100mm.
- Power Supply: The lock requires 4 AA alkaline batteries for daily power, and can accommodate up to 8 batteries for extended life. Batteries are not included.
- Emergency Power: A Type-C connection can be used for emergency power if batteries are depleted.
4.2 Installation:
Professional installation is highly recommended to ensure proper functionality and security. Please refer to the detailed installation guide provided with your product packaging for step-by-step instructions. Ensure all wiring and mechanical components are correctly aligned and secured.
4.3 Initial Setup:
- Battery Installation: Open the battery cover on the indoor unit and insert 4 or 8 AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Manager Password: Set up a manager password during initial configuration. This password is required for adding/removing other users and changing settings.
- Tuya App Integration: Download the Tuya App from your smartphone's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your SHP-P53 Smart Lock via WiFi. This will enable remote control and monitoring features.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Unlocking the Door:
- Fingerprint: Place your registered fingerprint on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will unlock automatically. The lock supports up to 50 fingerprints.

- Digital Password: Enter your registered digital password on the keypad and confirm. The lock supports up to 100 passwords.
- Magnetic Card: Present your registered magnetic card to the card identification area. The lock supports up to 100 cards.
- Mechanical Key: In case of emergency or battery depletion, use the mechanical key to unlock the door via the emergency key hole cover.
5.2 Locking the Door:
- Automatic Lock: The SHP-P53 is designed for fully automatic locking. Simply close the door, and the lock will engage automatically after a short delay.

5.3 Special Functions:
- Double Sense (Child Prevention): To open the door from the inside, first touch the inside of the handle, then press the electronic unlock button. This two-step process helps prevent young children from accidentally opening the door.

- Temporary Mute Function: Activate this function to temporarily disable lock sounds, useful during quiet hours.
- Two-Factor Authentication: For enhanced security, enable two-factor authentication which may require a combination of methods (e.g., fingerprint + password) to unlock.
- Anti-Prank/Random Safety Code: This feature adds random numbers before or after your actual password to confuse onlookers and prevent password exposure.
- Indoor Anti-Lock: Engage this feature from the inside to prevent entry from the outside, even with valid credentials.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the lock's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals that could damage the finish or electronic components.
- Battery Replacement: Replace all batteries when the low battery indicator appears or when voice alerts indicate low power. It is recommended to replace all batteries at once to ensure consistent performance.
- Fingerprint Sensor: Keep the fingerprint sensor clean and dry for optimal performance.
- Keypad: Ensure the keypad is free from dirt or debris.
7. Troubleshooting
- Lock not responding: Check battery levels. If batteries are depleted, use the Type-C emergency power supply or the mechanical key.
- Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry, and placed correctly on the sensor. Re-register your fingerprint if issues persist.
- Password not working: Double-check the entered password. Ensure the keypad is clean.
- Alarm Function: The lock features a "Pry, Pry" alarm function that activates if tampering is detected. Investigate the cause of the alarm and secure the lock.
- Connectivity issues: Ensure your home WiFi network is stable and the lock is within range. Re-pair the lock with the Tuya App if necessary.
