3. Setup

Follow these steps to assemble and prepare your DM12 Digital Microscope for use:

  1. Assemble the Stand: Attach the metal bracket to the metal base. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  2. Mount the Microscope: Carefully attach the microscope body to the metal bracket. Adjust the height as needed using the adjustment knob on the bracket.
  3. Connect Power: Use the provided Type-C charging cable to connect the microscope to a power source (e.g., USB adapter, computer USB port). The microscope can operate while charging.
  4. Position Lighting: Adjust the flexible arms of the 8 LED lights to illuminate your observation area.
  5. Insert SD Card (Optional): If you plan to save photos or videos, insert a Micro SD card (up to 32GB, not included) into the designated slot on the microscope body.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Operation

  1. Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button on the microscope body or remote control to turn the device on or off.
  2. Adjusting Focus: Place the object on the base. Rotate the focus knob on the microscope body to achieve a clear image on the screen.
  3. Adjusting LED Lights: Use the controls on the microscope or remote to adjust the brightness of the 8 LED lights for optimal illumination.
  4. Digital Zoom: Use the zoom buttons on the microscope or remote control to adjust the magnification level. The microscope supports continuous digital zoom up to 1500X.

4.2 Photo and Video Capture

  1. Taking Photos: Press the 'Photo' button on the microscope or remote control to capture a still image. Images are saved to the inserted Micro SD card.
  2. Recording Videos: Press the 'Record' button on the microscope or remote control to start/stop video recording. Videos are saved to the Micro SD card in MP4 format. The built-in microphone will capture audio.
  3. Remote Control: The included remote control allows for hands-free operation, reducing camera shake during photo and video capture.

4.3 Connectivity

The DM12 microscope offers versatile connectivity options:

  • HDMI Output: Connect the microscope to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI cable (not included) for a larger display.
  • PC Connection (Type-C): Connect the microscope to a Windows PC via the Type-C USB cable. This allows for real-time viewing and data transfer. Ensure any necessary drivers are installed if prompted by your operating system.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Lens and Screen: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical surfaces to clean the microscope lens and IPS screen. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Cleaning the Body: Wipe the microscope body and stand with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not allow water or cleaning solutions to enter the electronic components.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the microscope in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the lampshade to protect the lens.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the microscope frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in constant use.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power:
    • Ensure the charging cable is securely connected and the power source is active.
    • Check if the battery is charged. If not, charge the microscope for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again.
  • Blurry Image:
    • Adjust the focus knob slowly until the image is clear.
    • Ensure the object is within the working distance of the microscope.
    • Clean the lens if there are smudges or dust.
  • No Image on External Display (HDMI/PC):
    • Verify that the HDMI or Type-C cable is correctly connected to both the microscope and the external device.
    • Ensure the external display is set to the correct input source (HDMI, USB).
    • For PC connection, check if the necessary drivers are installed and the software is running correctly.
  • Cannot Save Photos/Videos:
    • Ensure a Micro SD card is inserted correctly.
    • Check if the Micro SD card has sufficient free space.
    • Verify that the Micro SD card is not locked (read-only).
    • Format the Micro SD card if issues persist (this will erase all data).
  • LED Lights Not Working:
    • Check the brightness adjustment settings.
    • Ensure the microscope is powered on.
