Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your telescope. Refer to Figure 2 for component identification.

Figure 2: Telescope Components
- Assemble the Tripod: Extend the legs of the Aluminum Tripod (1) to your desired height. Secure them using the Tripod Lock. Attach the Accessory Tray (13) to the center brace of the tripod for holding eyepieces and other small accessories.
- Attach the Telescope Tube: Place the Telescope Tube (2) onto the tripod mount. Secure it firmly using the provided hoop (3) and mounting screws. Ensure the Control Level is accessible for adjustments.
- Install the Finderscope: Mount the Finderscope (4) onto its designated bracket on the Telescope Tube. Align it so that its crosshairs are parallel to the main telescope's view.
- Insert the Zenith Mirror: Remove the dust cap from the focuser end of the Telescope Tube. Insert the Zenith Mirror (8) into the focuser and tighten the retaining screw. The Zenith Mirror provides a more comfortable viewing angle.
- Insert an Eyepiece: Choose an Eyepiece (5 or 6) and insert it into the Zenith Mirror. Tighten the retaining screw to hold it in place. Start with the K25mm eyepiece for a wider field of view, which is easier for locating objects.
- Attach the Stargazing Phone Mount: Secure the Stargazing Phone Mount (9) to the telescope tube. This mount is designed to hold your smartphone for use with the Sky Tonight App or for astrophotography.
Operating Instructions
Magnification and Eyepieces
Your telescope comes with two eyepieces (K10mm and K25mm) and a 3X Barlow Lens (7) to provide various magnification levels. The K25mm eyepiece offers lower magnification and a wider field of view, ideal for locating objects. The K10mm eyepiece provides higher magnification for more detailed observations. The 3X Barlow Lens triples the magnification of any eyepiece it's used with.

Figure 3: Magnification Options
- K25mm Eyepiece: 28X Magnification
- K10mm Eyepiece: 70X Magnification
- K25mm Eyepiece + 3X Barlow Lens: 84X Magnification
- K10mm Eyepiece + 3X Barlow Lens: 210X Magnification
To change magnification, simply swap eyepieces or insert the Barlow Lens between the Zenith Mirror and the eyepiece.
Focusing
Once an object is centered in your view, slowly turn the Focus Knob (labeled in Figure 2) until the image appears sharp and clear. Fine-tune the focus for optimal viewing.
Using the Sky Tonight App and Smartphone Adapter
The Sky Tonight App, combined with the Stargazing Phone Mount (9) and Phone Adapter (12), offers an intelligent way to locate and track celestial objects.

Figure 4: Sky Tonight App Integration
- Install the App: Use the App Install Card (14) to download and install the Sky Tonight App on your smartphone.
- Mount Your Phone: Attach your smartphone to the Stargazing Phone Mount (9) using the Phone Adapter (12). Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Calibrate and Locate: Open the Sky Tonight App. Enter the name of the celestial body you wish to observe. The app will display arrows guiding you to adjust your telescope's position (latitude and longitude) until it aligns with the target.
- Real-time Observation: The app allows for real-time tracking and provides detailed information about the celestial body you are viewing.
Wireless Remote
The Wireless Remote (10) allows you to capture photos or videos through your smartphone without touching the telescope, minimizing vibrations and ensuring clearer images. Refer to the Wireless Remote Instruction (11) for pairing and usage details.
Maintenance
- Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Gently wipe the objective lens and eyepieces. For stubborn smudges, use a small amount of optical cleaning fluid on the cloth, never directly on the lens.
- Cleaning the Telescope Body: Wipe the telescope tube and tripod with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use, store the telescope in a dry, dust-free environment. Keep all dust caps on the lenses and eyepieces to prevent dust accumulation. Store the telescope in its original packaging or a dedicated carrying case if available.
- Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Do not expose the telescope to extreme temperatures or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect the optical components.
Troubleshooting
- Image is blurry: Adjust the Focus Knob slowly until the image is sharp. Ensure the eyepiece is fully inserted and secured. Check for condensation on the lenses; allow the telescope to acclimate to the ambient temperature.
- Cannot find objects: Start with the lowest magnification eyepiece (K25mm) for a wider field of view. Use the Finderscope to locate the object first, then center it in the main telescope's view. Ensure the Finderscope is properly aligned with the main telescope.
- Image is dim: Ensure you are observing in a dark location away from light pollution. The 80mm objective lens is designed for good light gathering, but very faint objects may still be challenging.
- Phone mount not stable: Ensure your smartphone is properly seated and secured in the Phone Adapter and that the Stargazing Phone Mount is tightly attached to the telescope tube.

User Tips
- Start Simple: For beginners, begin by observing bright objects like the Moon or bright planets (e.g., Jupiter, Saturn). This helps you get accustomed to using the telescope and focusing.
- Dark Adaptation: Allow your eyes about 20-30 minutes to adapt to the dark before observing. Avoid looking at bright lights during this time.
- Observe from a Stable Surface: Ensure your tripod is on a firm, level surface to minimize vibrations, especially at higher magnifications.
- Dress Warm: Stargazing often involves long periods outdoors at night, so dress appropriately for the weather.
- Use the Moon Filter: When observing the Moon, especially when it's full, the Moon Filter (15) can reduce glare and enhance contrast, making details more visible and comfortable to view.
