5. Setup and Installation
5.1. Mounting the Radio
Use the provided mounting bracket and screws to securely install the radio in your vehicle or desired location. Ensure the mounting surface is stable and can support the weight of the radio.
5.2. Antenna Connection
Connect a suitable VHF/UHF antenna to the antenna connector on the rear panel of the radio. Ensure the connection is tight to prevent signal loss and damage.
5.3. Power Connection
Connect the supplied DC power cable to the power input on the rear of the radio. Connect the other end of the power cable to a 13.8V DC power source, ensuring correct polarity (red to positive, black to negative). The radio requires a stable power supply within ±15% of 13.8V DC.

Caution: Incorrect power connection can damage the radio. Always verify polarity before connecting to a power source.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Power On/Off
Press the PWR button on the front panel to turn the radio on or off.
6.2. Volume Adjustment
Rotate the VOL knob clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it.
6.3. Frequency/Channel Selection
- VFO Mode (Frequency Mode): Press V/M/MW to enter VFO mode. Use the Main Dial to tune the frequency. You can also use the number keypad on the microphone for direct frequency input.
- Memory Mode (Channel Mode): Press V/M/MW to enter Memory mode. Use the Main Dial to select a stored channel.
6.4. Squelch Level Adjustment
Press the SQL/D button and use the Main Dial to adjust the squelch level (0-9). A higher number requires a stronger signal to open the squelch.
6.5. Transmitting (PTT)
To transmit, press and hold the PTT button on the microphone and speak into the microphone. Release the PTT button to receive.
6.6. High/Mid/Low Power Selection
Press the CAL/H/L button to cycle through High, Mid, and Low power output settings.
6.7. Scanning
The radio supports Frequency/Channel scanning. Refer to the full user manual for detailed instructions on activating and configuring scanning functions.
