5. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the DC-IN port on the terminal and plug it into a power outlet.
- Thermal Paper Installation:
- Open the printer cover.
- Insert the thermal paper roll with the printing side facing up.
- Pull a small amount of paper out past the cutter and close the printer cover securely.

- Initial Boot: Press the power button to turn on the device. The system will boot up to the Android home screen.
- Network Connection: Connect to your local Wi-Fi network via Settings or use an Ethernet cable for a wired connection.
6. Operating Instructions
The SGT-116 operates on the Android platform, allowing for flexible installation of various POS software applications. Please note that POS software is not included with this hardware product and must be acquired and installed separately.
Basic Operation:
- Touch Screen: Navigate the Android interface and your POS application using the responsive 10-point capacitive touch screen.
- Printer: Once your POS software is configured, print receipts and labels directly from the application. The built-in 80mm thermal printer features an auto-cutter for convenience.
- Barcode Scanner (Optional): For models with a built-in 1D/2D barcode scanner, simply point the scanner at the product barcode to input items into your POS system.
- NFC Reader (Optional): For models with NFC, customers can tap their NFC-enabled cards or devices for contactless transactions, if supported by your POS software.
- Customer Display (Optional): If equipped with a 4.3-inch secondary LCD display or VFD, it will show transaction details to the customer.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. For the screen, use a screen-specific cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Thermal Printer Maintenance:
- Regularly check for paper jams.
- Clean the print head with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to ensure clear prints. Allow to dry completely before use.
- Replace thermal paper rolls promptly when they run out.
- Software Updates: Regularly check for and install system updates for the Android OS and your POS software to ensure optimal performance and security.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device not powering on: Check if the power adapter is securely connected to both the terminal and the power outlet. Ensure the power outlet is functional.
- Printer not printing: Verify that thermal paper is correctly installed and not jammed. Check printer status lights (NP/ERR). Ensure your POS software is sending print commands correctly.
- Barcode scanner not working: Ensure the scanner is enabled in your POS software settings. Check for any obstructions to the scanner window.
- No POS software included: This device is hardware only. You need to install your preferred Android-compatible POS software separately.
- Touch screen unresponsive: Restart the device. If the issue persists, contact support.
