This series of programmable DC power supplies offers adjustable voltage and current output, high precision, and multiple protection features, making them suitable for a wide range of applications from laboratory research to mobile phone repair and product testing.

5. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the various components and controls of your Wanptek DC Power Supply.

Front Panel (Common Features)

  1. Voltage Display: Shows the current output voltage.
  2. Current Display: Shows the current output current.
  3. Power Display: Shows the current output power.
  4. Constant Voltage (C.V) Indicator Light: Illuminates when the power supply is operating in constant voltage mode.
  5. Constant Current (C.C) Indicator Light: Illuminates when the power supply is operating in constant current mode.
  6. Short Circuit Protection (OCP) Indicator Light: Illuminates when Over Current Protection is active.
  7. Output Indicator Light (OUT): Illuminates when the output is active.
  8. Output Button: Toggles the power output ON/OFF. Long press for 5 seconds to enter system settings.
  9. Power Switch: Main power ON/OFF switch.
  10. USB-C Port: Fast charging interface.
  11. USB-A Port: Fast charging interface.
  12. Voltage/Current Switching Button (V/A): Toggles between voltage and current adjustment modes.
  13. Encoder Knob: Used to adjust numerical values. Press to move the cursor to different digit positions.
  14. Positive Polarity (Red) Output Terminal.
  15. Ground Terminal (Green).
  16. Negative Polarity (Black) Output Terminal.

Rear Panel

  • Cooling Fan: Activates when the internal temperature exceeds 50°C (122°F).
  • AC Input Voltage Switch: Selects between 230V ±10% and 115V ±10%.
  • AC Input Power Socket: Connects to the main power supply.
  • Fuse Box: Contains the protective fuse.

6. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the power supply and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Input Voltage Selection: Before connecting the power cord, ensure the AC input voltage switch on the rear panel is set to match your local mains voltage (230V or 115V). Incorrect selection can damage the unit.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the AC input power socket on the rear panel and then to a suitable wall outlet.
  4. Output Connections: Connect the test lines to the output terminals (red to positive, black to negative, green to ground if needed) and then to your load device. Ensure connections are secure.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Powering On/Off

  • Press the Power Switch on the front panel to turn the unit ON or OFF.

7.2 Adjusting Voltage and Current

The power supply uses an encoder knob for precise adjustment.

  1. Press the V/A (Voltage/Current Switching) button to select whether you want to adjust voltage or current. The corresponding digit on the display will blink.
  2. Rotate the Encoder Knob to increase or decrease the numerical value. Clockwise rotation increases the value, counter-clockwise decreases it.
  3. Press the Encoder Knob to move the cursor to the desired digit position for fine adjustment.

7.3 Output Control

  • Press the Output button to enable or disable the power output. The 'OUT' indicator light will show the status.
  • System Settings: Long press the Output button for 5 seconds to enter the system settings menu. Here you can adjust LCD screen brightness and eliminate key tones.

7.4 Over Current Protection (OCP) Mode

  • To enter OCP mode, long press the Current adjustment knob (or the dedicated OCP button on some models).
  • When a short circuit occurs in the output, the machine will stop outputting and provide an alarm prompt, and the OCP indicator light will illuminate.

7.5 USB Fast Charging Interface

Some models are equipped with USB-A and/or USB-C fast charging ports for convenient device charging.

7.6 Data Storage Function (M1, M2, M3)

Certain models feature three sets of data storage buttons (M1, M2, M3) to quickly recall frequently used voltage and current settings.

  • To save a setting: Adjust the desired voltage and current, then long press one of the M1, M2, or M3 buttons until the display confirms saving.
  • To recall a setting: Short press the corresponding M1, M2, or M3 button to load the saved values.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the power supply from the mains before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the cooling fan and ventilation openings on the sides and rear are free from dust and obstructions. Regularly clean the fan area to maintain optimal cooling.
  • Fuse Replacement: If the unit does not power on, check the fuse located in the fuse box on the rear panel. Replace it with a fuse of the same type and rating if blown.
  • Storage: Store the power supply in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use for extended periods.
