WANPTEK WPS/APS Series Programmable DC Power Supply User Manual

Safety Overview

Welcome to the user manual for WANPTEK programmable DC regulated power supplies (referred to as "power supply"). This manual contains important safety instructions for operating and storing this series of products. To ensure your personal safety, please read this manual thoroughly before operation to prevent personal injury or damage to the power supply and connected load equipment due to improper operation.

Working Requirements

  1. AC Input: Ensure the machine's allowed AC input voltage. This machine can switch between two AC input voltages via a switch on the rear panel: AC 230V±10% or AC 115V±10%.
    • When "230V" is visible, the allowed input voltage is AC 230V±10%.
    • When "115V" is visible, the allowed input voltage is AC 115V±10%.
Warning: Incorrect AC input voltage can cause severe damage to the machine. Please ensure the required input voltage for the machine.
  2. Grounding: When using this product, ensure the power cord is properly grounded. If the power outlet does not have a ground wire, you can connect the machine's ground terminal to the earth using a wire. Proper grounding effectively prevents leakage and reduces output ripple interference.

Connecting Load Devices

  1. Securely connect one end of the output cable to the positive and negative terminals of the power supply.
  2. Securely connect the other end of the output cable to the positive and negative terminals of the load device.
Note: Incorrect connection may damage the power supply and connected load. When connecting batteries or similar loads, do not reverse the "+" and "-" polarities, as this may damage the power supply.

Product Introduction

The WANPTEK Programmable DC Power Supply features a clear display and intuitive controls. The front panel includes:

The rear panel includes:

Operation Instructions

The power supply has two output modes: Constant Voltage (C.V) and Constant Current (C.C). The output mode is determined by the user-set voltage and current values, and the connected load. The output voltage or current will not exceed the user-set values.

Note: In actual CV operation, if the load resistance decreases, causing the output current to increase to the set current value, the power supply will automatically switch to CC mode. As the load resistance continues to decrease, the current will remain at the set current value, and the voltage will decrease proportionally (I=V/R). Increasing the load resistance or raising the set current value will restore the CV output state.

VOLTAGE Adjustment Encoder

Used to adjust the set voltage. Rotate clockwise to increase the value; rotate counter-clockwise to decrease the value. Pressing the encoder switch shifts the digit to the left. After 3 seconds of completing the voltage setting operation, the display stops flashing and saves the current setting.

CURRENT Adjustment Encoder

Used to adjust the set current. Rotate clockwise to increase the value; rotate counter-clockwise to decrease the value. Pressing the encoder switch shifts the digit to the left. After 3 seconds of completing the current setting operation, the display stops flashing and saves the current setting.

WPS models also feature: Long press to enable/disable short circuit protection.

OUTPUT Switch

Short press the output button to toggle power output on/off. Long press for 5 seconds to enter system settings.

OCP Short Circuit Protection Switch

When this function is enabled, the indicator light will illuminate. If a short circuit occurs, the machine will stop output and trigger an alarm. Pressing the output button can clear the alarm and enter the output-off state.

USB Quick Charge Function

This unit features USB-A/Type-C fast charging, with a built-in multi-protocol fast charge identification chip, providing up to 18W output power.

M1-M3 Storage Switch (Applicable to APS Models)

This unit has 3 sets of memory functions, making it easy to store and recall frequently used parameters. Long pressing any M1-M3 button will save the current voltage and current settings. Short pressing any M1-M3 button will recall the previously stored voltage and current settings.

System Settings

Long press the OUT output button for 5 seconds to enter the system settings function. According to your needs, you can make default settings for the machine. After entering system settings:

PC Communication

Users can purchase models with a USB communication module to communicate with a host computer (or master) via the MODBUS-RTU protocol, enabling remote host computer control. The power supply can be connected to a PC/PLC via a USB cable, or different conversion data cables can be used to achieve USB to RS232/485 interface communication.

Common Problems & Product Warranty

Product Warranty

1. This product enjoys free repair service for one year from the date of purchase. The following situations are excluded:

2. Repair fees will be charged for repairs beyond the warranty period. Users are responsible for the maintenance costs incurred.

Fuse Replacement

If the fuse blows, the machine will stop working. Identify and correct the cause of the blown fuse, then replace it with a fuse of the same specification.

Fuse Replacement Method: First, remove the power plug, then open the fuse holder as shown in the diagram. After replacing with a fuse of the same model and specification, reinstall the fuse holder.

High Voltage Danger: For effective safety protection, only replace with fuses of the specified specifications. Before replacing the fuse, you must turn off the power and unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
