Output Methods:

  • Relay Output: Directly connected to the heat pipe or an AC contactor. The relay contacts are rated at 3A / 250VAC.
  • Solid State Output (SSR): Connected to a Solid State Relay. The voltage impulse output is 12VDC, designed to control an external AC solid state relay.

Input Methods:

The controller accepts thermocouple inputs with index numbers K, J, E, or N. Ensure the correct thermocouple type is selected on the panel to match your sensor.

WARNING: All wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician. Ensure power is disconnected before making any connections to prevent electric shock or damage to the unit.

5. Operation

5.1 Basic Temperature Setting

  1. Power on the device. The PV display will show the current measured temperature, and the SV display will show the set temperature.
  2. Press the MODE button briefly to enter the set value adjustment mode. The SV display will flash.
  3. Use the and buttons to adjust the desired temperature. Use the (Shift) key to move between digits for faster adjustment.
  4. Press the MODE button again to confirm the new set value and exit the adjustment mode.

5.2 Control Mode Selection (PID / ON/OFF)

The controller supports both PID and ON/OFF control modes. ON/OFF control is activated when the 'P' parameter (proportional band) is set to 0. For more advanced control and stability, use PID mode.

Refer to the full English manual (included in the package) for detailed instructions on accessing and adjusting advanced parameters, including PID settings and thermocouple type selection.

5.3 Alarm Settings

The controller features one alarm with six different modes: high deviation, low deviation, and process value alarm. These can be configured through the parameter settings. Consult the detailed manual for specific alarm parameter adjustments.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the controller operates within the specified ambient temperature (0-50°C) and humidity (30-85%RH) range. Avoid environments with corrosive gases.
  • Inspection: Periodically check wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your SINOTIMER MT-S controller, consider the following basic troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Check the power supply connections and ensure the voltage is within the AC100-240V range.
  • Incorrect Temperature Reading: Verify that the correct thermocouple type is selected in the controller's settings and that the thermocouple is properly connected and not damaged.
  • Output Not Activating: Check the OUT indicator. Ensure the set temperature (SV) is appropriately configured relative to the process value (PV) for heating or cooling. Verify output wiring.
  • Unstable Temperature Control: If using PID mode, consider performing an auto-tune cycle. If using ON/OFF mode, ensure the hysteresis (deadband) is set appropriately.
  • Alarm Not Functioning: Check alarm settings and ensure the alarm mode and set points are correctly configured.

For more complex issues, refer to the comprehensive English manual provided with your product or contact customer support.
