4.2 Connection Steps
- Independent Power Supply: Ensure you provide a 5V DC independent power supply to the instrument. This is essential for the meter to power on and function correctly.
- Shunt Connection: The current sampler (shunt) must be connected in series to the negative circuit of the battery (B-). It is strictly prohibited to connect the shunt to the positive circuit. The sampler should be connected to the negative electrode B- of the battery, and the P-end should be connected to the negative electrode P- (C-) for charging and discharging.
- Voltage Sampling: Connect one red wire and one black wire to the positive and negative terminals of the battery to the voltage sampling input interface as shown in the diagram.
- USB-HID Data Cable: Connect the provided Type-C data cable to a 5V USB power supply to power the product, and it will display normally. This cable is also used for PC communication.
- Current Flow Direction: Ensure that all current flowing through the battery passes through the bidirectional current sampler shown in the diagram.
- Wire Thickness: The current line passing through the load should be as thick as possible and meet the required current carrying capacity of the load. Thicker wire diameter is better for minimizing resistance and heat.
- Temperature Probe: Adhere the temperature probe to the surface of the tested battery for accurate external temperature readings.
- Optional Relay: If using an external relay for automatic power-off protection (over-voltage, low-voltage, over-power), connect it as shown in the diagram. The relay requires a DC5V independent power supply.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Key Operations

Image: DT20 Key Operation and Introduction, detailing the functions of the -, M/OK, and + buttons.
- - Button: Used to switch display pages or adjust values in settings.
- M/OK Button: Short press to set values or confirm selections. Long press to enter the background settings menu.
- + Button: Used to switch display pages or adjust values in settings.
5.2 Display Interfaces
The DT20 offers multiple display interfaces to view various parameters:

Image: English display interface examples: Main, Alarm, Percentage, Curve, Large Font, HID/Bluetooth/WiFi online interfaces, Language selection, Overvoltage/Lowvoltage/Overpower alarm settings, System Settings (1, 2, 3), Scan code for manual.
- Main Interface: Displays voltage, current, power, capacity (Cap/mAh), and energy (Ene/Wh).
- Alarm Interface: Shows current alarm thresholds (OTV, LVT, OPT) and real-time values.
- Percentage Interface: Displays battery capacity as a percentage with a graphical battery symbol.
- Curve Interface: Visualizes voltage and current curves over time.
- Large Font Display: Provides a simplified view with larger numbers for key parameters.
5.3 Capacity Testing
The DT20 supports bidirectional current testing. When discharging, the current will display a "-" symbol. When charging, the current will display a "+" symbol. For cumulative capacity testing, you must hold down both the "+" and "-" keys simultaneously to reset the capacity to zero before starting a new test. The test result will then reflect the discharge or charging capacity for that cycle.
5.4 Alarm Functions
The device features double alarms (sound and display) for overvoltage, low voltage, and overpower conditions. After setting the thresholds in the background menu, the device will automatically detect these parameters in real-time. If a threshold is exceeded, the display will show the alarm content, and an internal buzzer will sound, reminding users to take action to prevent battery damage.

6. Advanced Features
6.1 WiFi Remote Control
The DT20 includes a built-in WiFi module. Connect the meter's Wi-Fi to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Then, download the Smart Life or Tuya app on your smartphone. Through the app, you can remotely monitor and adjust settings, view real-time data, and access charging/discharging curve statistics from anywhere.

6.2 Online Computer Function & Firmware Upgrade
Install the dedicated PC software on your computer and connect the DT20 via the HID data cable. The software allows for rich curve functions, data measurement, online control of the device, and export of charging/discharging data. Firmware updates can also be performed through the PC software, offering lifetime free upgrades.

6.3 Charging and Discharging Curve & Peak Recording
The DT20 provides a curve interface to observe the charging and discharging voltage and current over time. This feature allows for viewing maximum values and provides a clear understanding of the battery's operating state and wave amplitude.

6.4 Battery Level Percentage Color Change Display
The meter allows users to set corresponding full charge voltage and minimum discharge voltage values. Based on these thresholds, the system displays the percentage charge through a battery symbol. The color of the battery symbol changes to indicate the charge level: green for >30%, orange for <30%, and red for <8%. This feature can also be used for over-voltage and low-voltage disconnection protection when combined with a relay.

7. Troubleshooting
- No Display/Power: Ensure the 5V independent power supply is correctly connected and functioning. Check the USB-HID cable connection.
- Inaccurate Readings: Verify all wiring connections, especially the shunt and voltage sampling wires, are secure and correctly oriented. Ensure the current line passing through the load is of adequate thickness for the measured current.
- Capacity Test Issues: Remember to reset the capacity to zero by holding down the "+" and "-" keys before starting a new cumulative capacity test.
- App Connectivity Problems: Ensure the DT20 is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. Check your phone's network connection and ensure the Smart Life or Tuya app is updated to the latest version.
- Alarm Malfunctions: Confirm that alarm thresholds are correctly set in the background menu. If using a relay for automatic power-off, ensure it is correctly wired and receiving its independent 5V power supply.
- General Errors: Small errors caused by hardware are often repaired through software. Ensure your device firmware is up to date.
8. User Tips
- Battery Compatibility: The DT20 meter is compatible with various battery types, including lead-acid, ternary lithium, and lithium iron phosphate batteries, as long as their voltage falls within the 0-420V range.
- Wire Gauge: Always use appropriately thick wires for high current connections to prevent overheating and ensure accurate measurements. The wiring diagram explicitly states, "The current line passing through the load should be as thick as possible and meet the required current of the load! The thicker the wire diameter, the better!"
- Capacity Reset: For accurate cumulative capacity measurements, always remember to reset the capacity to zero by holding down the '+' and '-' keys before starting a new charge or discharge cycle.
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install firmware updates via the PC software to benefit from optimizations and new features.
9. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the DT20 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Connections: Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and corrosion to ensure reliable performance.
