- Prepare the Door: Ensure your door meets the specified thickness (35-50mm or 1-3/8" to 2") and has a standard 2-1/8" bore hole. Use the provided template if drilling new holes.
- Install the Latch/Deadbolt: Insert the deadbolt latch mechanism into the edge of the door. Secure it with the provided screws. Ensure the latch is oriented correctly for your door's swing.
- Install the Strike Plate: Attach the strike plate and strike box to the door frame, aligning them with the deadbolt latch. Secure with screws.
- Mount the Exterior Keypad Unit: Position the exterior keypad unit on the outside of the door, feeding the connecting cable through the bore hole.
- Install the Interior Mounting Plate: On the inside of the door, feed the cable through the interior mounting plate. Secure the mounting plate to the door using the long screws, ensuring it's flush and stable.
- Connect the Interior Assembly Unit: Connect the cable from the exterior unit to the corresponding port on the interior assembly unit. Carefully tuck any excess cable into the door cavity.

- Replace Battery Cover: Securely close the battery cover.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Unlocking with Digital Code
To unlock the door using a digital code:
- Enter your 4-10 digit user code on the keypad.
- Press the "#" key to confirm.
- The lock will retract the deadbolt, allowing you to open the door.
6.2. Anti-Peeking Password
To prevent others from guessing your code, you can enter random digits before or after your actual code. The lock will still recognize the correct sequence within the longer string of numbers.
Example: If your code is 841672, you can enter 49268416723721.
6.3. Auto-Lock Feature
The lock is equipped with an auto-lock feature for enhanced security. After the door is closed, the deadbolt will automatically extend after a preset time (usually a few seconds). This prevents accidental unlocking or forgetting to lock the door.
6.4. Manual Locking/Unlocking
From the inside, you can manually lock or unlock the door using the thumb turn. From the outside, you can use the mechanical key provided.
6.5. Mute Mode
The lock supports a mute mode for silent operation. Refer to the programming instructions (usually found in a separate quick start guide or advanced settings) to enable or disable this feature.
6.6. Automatic Locking after 10 Errors
For security, if 10 incorrect codes are entered consecutively, the lock will temporarily disable the keypad. This prevents brute-force attempts to guess your code. The lock will reactivate after a short period.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the keypad and lock body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
- Battery Replacement: The lock uses 4 AA batteries. When the battery level is low, the lock will typically provide an audible or visual alert. Replace all four batteries simultaneously with new, high-quality alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.
- Mechanical Components: Periodically check the screws and mounting to ensure they are tight. Lubricate the deadbolt mechanism with a silicone-based lubricant if it becomes stiff.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Lock not responding to keypad entry. | Low batteries; Incorrect code; Keypad disabled due to multiple incorrect entries. | Replace batteries; Ensure correct code is entered; Wait for keypad to reactivate (after 10 errors). |
| Deadbolt does not extend/retract smoothly. | Misalignment of lock components; Obstruction in door frame; Low batteries. | Check alignment of deadbolt and strike plate; Clear any obstructions; Replace batteries. |
| Keypad illumination not working. | Low batteries; Faulty connection. | Replace batteries; Check cable connections during installation. |
| Lock beeps continuously or makes unusual sounds. | Low battery warning; Error code. | Replace batteries; Refer to the programming guide for specific error codes. |
9. User Tips
- Regular Battery Checks: To avoid being locked out, check your battery levels regularly and replace them proactively, especially before extended absences.
- Code Management: Change your user codes periodically for enhanced security. Avoid using easily guessable codes like birthdays or sequential numbers.
- Master Code Security: Keep your master programming code confidential and stored in a safe place, separate from the lock itself.
- Door Alignment: Ensure your door is properly aligned and closes smoothly before installing the lock. A misaligned door can cause the deadbolt to jam or wear out prematurely.
- Mechanical Key Backup: Always keep a mechanical key in a secure, accessible location outside your home for emergency access.
