Installation Template
This section provides a template and instructions for installing your HOTATA smart lock and deadbolts.
Important Placement: Place the template on the high edge of the door bevel.
- Step 1: Position the template.
- Step 2: Mark the top position 36" (915mm) above the floor.
- Step 3: Mark for door thickness: 1-3/4" (45mm) or 1-3/8" (35mm).
- Step 4: Drill a 1" (25mm) hole in the center of the door edge, 2" (50mm) in depth. ✂️
- Step 5: Mark the center of the hole on the door face.
- Step 6: Drill a 2-1/8" (54mm) hole.
Note: Fold the template along the door edge as indicated.

Installation Tips
After the lock is installed, try to unlock and lock the door with the key.
If the latch does not extend or retract properly, check if the locking lever is crossed transversal through the latch (refer to page 5 of the manual) and if the L/R setting is correct (refer to page 6 of the manual).
