The Autophix 7910 is a professional diagnostic scanner designed for BMW, MINI, and Rolls Royce vehicles. It supports most electronic systems for vehicles manufactured between 1998 and 2001, and all models after 2001. This tool can perform multi-system diagnostics and service reset functions for drive ECM, body BCM, and chassis systems. Additionally, it functions as a universal OBD2/EOBD tool for engine system diagnostics on other vehicle brands.
The device features a 2.8-inch TFT 262K true color LCD display for clear test results and a silicone keypad for easy menu navigation. Its rugged, drop-proof case ensures durability.

2. Setup
2.1 Device Layout and Dimensions

The device features an LCD Display, ESC Button, I/M Button, OBD-16Pin Connector, READ DTC button, Direction Buttons, and an OK Button. The dimensions are approximately 6.02 inches in height and 3.74 inches in width.
2.2 Language Selection
The Autophix 7910 supports multiple languages for its menu interface. You can select your preferred language from the settings menu.

2.3 Connecting to Vehicle
- Locate your vehicle's OBD-II port, usually found under the dashboard on the driver's side.
- Ensure the vehicle's ignition is turned ON (engine can be off).
- Connect the Autophix 7910's OBD-16Pin Connector to the vehicle's OBD-II port.
- The device will power on automatically.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 OBDII Diagnostic Mode (Universal)
This mode is compatible with most cars manufactured after 1996 that support OBD2 protocols. It allows you to perform basic engine diagnostics.
- Read Codes: Retrieves Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the vehicle's engine system.
- Erase Codes: Clears DTCs from the vehicle's engine system.
- I/M Readiness: Checks the status of emission-related monitoring systems to ensure they are ready for inspection.
- Data Stream: Displays real-time data parameters from the engine.
- Evap System Test: Initiates a test of the evaporative emission control system.

- Maintenance Function A (CBS Reset): Resets and corrects CBS maintenance items including Engine oil, Spark plugs, Front brakes, Rear brakes, Coolant, Diesel particle filter, Brake fluid, Microfilter, Vehicle inspection, Exhaust emission inspection, and Vehicle check.
- Maintenance Function B: Resets maintenance interval indicators for Oil service, Inspection, Time interval, Correct follow-on service, and Display service interval status.
- DME/DDE Engine Special Functions: Includes IQA, Idle speed adjustment, Fuel injection rate, CO adjustment, Clear adaptions, Learn Valvetronic limit positions, Exhaust gas recycling, DPF Regeneration, and Replace DPF.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Oil Light Service Reset
The Engine Oil Life System calculates when to change the engine oil and filter based on vehicle use. An oil change is required whenever indicated by the display and according to the recommended maintenance schedule. Whenever the oil is changed, reset the system so it can calculate when the next oil change is required. If a situation occurs where the oil is changed prior to a service indicator being turned on, also reset the system.

4.2 Battery Registration / Battery Maintenance
This function allows you to evaluate the battery charge state, monitor the closed-circuit current, and register battery replacement.

How to Register a Battery:
The process for battery registration is straightforward:
- Remove the old battery.
- Install the new battery.
- Enter the new battery's 12-digit code into the device. Ensure the code is entered correctly, as it affects product accuracy.

5. Troubleshooting
- "Communication Error" Message: If you encounter this message, ensure the ignition switch is ON, the tester is securely connected to the vehicle's DLC (Data Link Connector), and the vehicle's battery is sufficiently charged.
- No Fault Codes Displayed: If the device indicates "The vehicle has no fault codes," it means no current diagnostic trouble codes are present in the system.
- Clearing DTCs: If fault codes are present, you can attempt to clear them directly using the "Erase Codes" function.
- I/M Readiness Issues: For emission-related concerns, always check the I/M Readiness monitors and ensure they are all marked as "Ready" to avoid rejection during annual inspections.

7.1 Software Updates
The Autophix 7910 offers lifelong free online software updates to ensure compatibility with new vehicle models and features. To update your device:
- Visit the official Autophix website and download the Ancel client update tool software.
- Connect your Autophix 7910 device to your computer using a USB cable.
- The update software is compatible with Windows 7/8/10. (Windows 8/10 can run the update software directly; Windows 7 requires driver installation. Click "install driver.bat" in the driver file to install the necessary drivers).
- Double-click "Update.exe" and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update process.

8. User Tips
- Battery Code Accuracy: When registering a new battery, ensure you correctly enter the 12-digit battery code. Incorrect entry can affect the accuracy of the product's battery management functions.
- Live Data Analysis: When reviewing live data, pay close attention to the Short Term Fuel Trim (STFT) and Long Term Fuel Trim (LTFT). These values are crucial for understanding how the Engine Control Unit (ECU) manages fuel delivery.
- Software Update Compatibility: The software update tool is only supported on Windows 7/8/10 operating systems. It is not compatible with Apple iOS laptops.
