Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Main Unit: Wipe the thermometer main unit with a damp cloth. Do NOT immerse the unit in water or place it in a dishwasher.
  • Cleaning the Probes: The stainless steel probes can be cleaned with hot water and soap. Ensure they are thoroughly dried before storage.
  • Storage: Store the thermometer and probes in a dry place, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight, when not in use.

Troubleshooting

  • No Display or Faint Display:

    • Check if the batteries are installed correctly with the right polarity.
    • Replace the batteries with fresh AAA batteries if the display is faint or non-existent.
  • Inaccurate Temperature Readings:

    • Ensure the probe is inserted into the thickest part of the meat, avoiding bone, fat, or gristle.
    • Verify that the probe is fully inserted into the thermometer's port.
  • "--- " or "LLL/HHH" on Display:

    • This usually indicates a probe error. Ensure the probe is securely plugged into the unit.
    • If the issue persists, the probe might be damaged and require replacement.

User Tips

  • For optimal accuracy, always insert the probe into the center of the thickest part of the food, away from bones or heating elements.
  • Utilize the preset temperatures for common meats, but feel free to customize the target temperature for specific recipes or personal doneness preferences.
  • The backlight feature is particularly useful for grilling or cooking in low-light environments, ensuring you can always read the temperature clearly.
  • Consider having spare probes on hand, as they can sometimes wear out or get damaged with frequent use.
