Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new SUNSUN Aquarium External Filter. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper function and longevity of your filter.

The SUNSUN Aquarium External Filter is designed for multi-stage filtration, providing effective water purification for your aquarium. It is available in models EW-602 and EW-603, supporting both 110V and 220-240V power supplies.

EW-603B includes:

  • Filter unit (Diameter 160 * 330MM)
  • Inlet and outlet accessories
  • 12mm boutique water pipe (1.5m * 2)
  • Filter cotton (black, yellow, blue sponges)
  • One 12mm outlet

Setup Instructions

  1. Install the filter cartridge: Insert the filter cartridge into the filter unit. Ensure it is oriented correctly, following the direction indicated by any arrows or guides within the unit.

    Ensure filter sponges are stacked correctly for multi-stage filtration.

  2. Connect to water supply: Attach the water pipes (inlet and outlet) to the filter unit and your aquarium. Securely tighten all fittings to prevent leaks.

Operating Instructions

  1. Start using: Once the filter is fully assembled and connected, turn on the faucet or power switch to begin the filtration process. Ensure the unit is primed if necessary (refer to specific model instructions if priming mechanism is present).

Maintenance

  • Filter Cartridge Replacement: Regularly replace the filter cartridge (sponges) to maintain efficient filtration and prevent water quality issues. The frequency depends on aquarium size, bioload, and water parameters.
  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the filter unit and hoses to remove accumulated debris and ensure unrestricted water flow.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Low water flow

Solution: Check whether the filter cartridge is clogged. Clean or replace the filter sponges as needed. Also, inspect hoses for kinks or blockages.

Problem: Leakage

Solution: Reinstall the unit, ensuring all connections are tight. Check and replace any worn or damaged sealing rings (gaskets).
