Turning On Your Scooter
To turn on your scooter for the first time, locate the circuit breaker switch underneath the seat. Insert the key into the ignition, turn it counterclockwise (left) without pushing it in. You will hear the seat latch release, allowing you to lift the back of the seat to access the circuit breaker.
Note: If the seat latch is difficult to release, ensure the key is not being pushed inwards while turning.
Operation of Scooter
Battery Power Indicator Lights
The battery power indicator bars illuminate when the scooter is turned on, showing the current charge level.
Emergency Brake Tab
The emergency brake is located on the left side of the tiller. Activate it by pushing the pin upwards while squeezing the left brake handle. The bar will move upwards when the handle is halfway squeezed. Squeeze the left brake handle again to deactivate.
Tiller Controls
The tiller features various controls:
- High/Low Headlight Button: Controls the headlight brightness.
- Turn Signal Switch: Activates turn signals.
- Lights Switch: Controls the lights.
- Horn Button #1 & #2: Activates the horn.
- Speed Selector Switch: Adjusts the scooter's speed.
- Forward/Reverse Button: Selects the direction of travel.
Charging Instructions
The smart charger will automatically shut off high current mode when the scooter is fully charged. A red light on the charger indicates charging is in progress, while a green light signifies a full charge. Unplug the charger within two hours of a full charge to prevent overcharging.
Charging time can vary up to 8 hours, depending on battery level. If the red light remains on for over 8 hours, unplug the charger. Do not exceed 8 hours of charging time.

Size and Weight Limits
The scooter is designed for specific size and weight limits. Periodically check your weight against the scooter's limits. Exceeding weight limits can cause hazardous situations, including increased braking distances, decreased responsiveness, and tip-overs. Modifications that alter the center of gravity can also cause damage and hazardous situations. EWheels is not responsible for damage or injury due to exceeding weight limits or modifications. Do not adjust the seat while the scooter is in motion.
General Operation – Safety Belt
If equipped, always use the safety belt when seated. Do not operate without it. Have the belt replaced by an authorized technician if frayed, cut, or damaged.
General Operation – Mirrors
Orient mirrors while stationary to ensure visibility and minimize blind spots. Never adjust mirrors while operating.
General Operation – Lights and Signals
Use headlights and turn signals to increase visibility to other vehicles and pedestrians, especially at night.
General Operation – Driving Outdoors
The scooter is designed for clean, even, dry surfaces. Avoid outdoor storage as water can damage components. Seek shelter in inclement weather.
Always ensure the power is off before mounting or dismounting. Never mount or dismount a moving scooter. Do not switch off power while the scooter is moving. Ensure the speed selector is set correctly and the forward/reverse direction is selected before driving.
General Operation – Public Roads
Unless permitted by state law, do not drive on public roads. Use adjacent sidewalks. Be aware of your smaller size and slower speed relative to motor vehicles. Adhere to all state and local traffic rules. Gain initial experience in a controlled environment away from public roads.
General Operation – Alternate Surfaces
Do not drive on stairs or escalators. Use elevators when available, inspecting them for safe ingress and egress.
General Operation – Curbs
The scooter cannot drive over abrupt, vertical curbs. Do not attempt, as it may cause damage and injury. Gradual, smooth curbs can be navigated by approaching perpendicularly and maintaining consistent speed. Avoid oblique angles. Avoid stopping on small objects, curbs, or obstructions.
General Operation – Incline Control
The scooter handles inclines and declines. Use caution on inclines that make operation difficult. Move off the incline if the scooter struggles to climb. For declines, apply brakes if the scooter moves too quickly and move off the decline. Use ramps with roughened surfaces. Never drive transversely or turn sharply on an incline. Never drive in reverse down an incline. EWheels does not guarantee safety on inclines/declines greater than 10 degrees.
General Operation – Cornering
Reduce speed when making sharp turns to prevent tipping. Maneuver at a speed appropriate for the scooter, conditions, and rider.
General Operation – Influences
Do not operate the scooter while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications that impair judgment, coordination, or reaction time.
General Operation – Ingress and Egress
Exercise care when mounting and dismounting. Ensure the scooter is braked on level ground with the switch off. Use sturdy furniture or assistive devices for support. Use upper body strength to assist leg movement. Move slowly and pause if unsteady.
Regular Maintenance
- Check for normal operation, loose parts, and defects before each use. Repair any issues before operating.
- Keep the scooter clean and dry. Use a damp sponge or cloth; do not use high-pressure sprayers or immerse components in water.
- Check tires for wear or damage before operating.
- Maintain recommended tire pressure. Check tires regularly for wear, cracks, or nails. Failure to maintain proper tire pressure can lead to premature wear and potential injury.
Use Within a Motor Vehicle
Do not sit or operate the scooter in a motor vehicle. Stow or rack the scooter according to vehicle guidelines. Never sit in the scooter while it is in a moving vehicle.
Batteries
- Do not use automotive batteries.
- Charge batteries in a well-ventilated area.
