4. Setup and Connection
Follow these instructions for proper setup and connection of your Walksnail Moonlight KIT:
- Mounting: Securely mount the camera and VTX module to your FPV model aircraft using the provided mounting screws and silicone pads. The VTX installation hole distance is 20x20mm or 25x25mm (M2).
- Antenna Connection: Connect the two IPEX antennas to the VTX module. Ensure they are securely fastened.
- Power Connection: Connect the power input cable (JST1.0*4) to a power source providing 7.4V-25.2V. Ensure correct polarity (VCC and GND).
- UART Connection: Connect the UART RX and TX lines from the VTX to your flight controller for communication, if desired for OSD or other features.
- USB Connection: The USB cable (JST0.8*6) is primarily for upgrading firmware. Connect it only when performing firmware updates. The white line on the USB cable aligns with the white circle connection point on the VTX.
- Micro SD Card: Insert a U3 MicroSD card (up to 256GB) into the designated slot on the VTX for video recording.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On and Initial Use
- Ensure all connections are secure and the Micro SD card is inserted.
- Apply power within the specified range (7.4V-25.2V).
- The system will power on and begin transmitting video. Pair with your compatible FPV goggles/receiver.
5.2 Camera Settings (OSD)
The Moonlight KIT supports OSD (On-Screen Display) in Canvas mode, allowing you to adjust camera parameters directly through your FPV goggles. Navigate the OSD menu to access settings such as:
- Scene: Day/Night modes.
- Sharpness: Adjust image sharpness.
- Ratio: Select video aspect ratio (e.g., 16:9).
- ISO: Manual ISO adjustment (100-25600) for light sensitivity.
- EV: Exposure Value compensation.
- WB (White Balance): Adjust color temperature.
- Saturation: Control color intensity.
- Shutter: Manual shutter speed control.
- DNR (Digital Noise Reduction): 2D and 3D DNR options to reduce image noise.

5.3 Recording
Video recording is automatically managed by the VTX when a Micro SD card is inserted. Ensure your card is formatted correctly (FAT32 or exFAT recommended) for optimal performance. The recording resolution can be set to 4K@30/60fps, 2.7K@30/60fps, 1080p@100/60fps, or 720p@60fps.
5.4 Gyroflow Stabilization
The built-in gyroscope records motion data alongside your video. To utilize Gyroflow stabilization, transfer your recorded MP4 (H.264) video files to a computer and process them using the Gyroflow software. This will produce incredibly smooth and stable footage.
5.5 ND Filters
Attach the included ND8 filters to the camera lens in bright lighting conditions to reduce light intake, prevent overexposure, and achieve more cinematic motion blur.
6. Maintenance
- Keep the camera lens clean using a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Ensure the VTX module and camera are free from dust and debris.
- Regularly check all cable connections for wear or damage.
- Store the kit in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Periodically check for firmware updates from CADDXFPV to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Video Signal: Check power connections, antenna connections, and ensure your FPV goggles/receiver are on the correct frequency and channel.
- Poor Video Quality/Interference: Verify antenna placement, check for obstructions, and ensure no other devices are causing interference on the same frequency.
- Recording Issues: Ensure the Micro SD card is properly inserted, formatted, and has sufficient free space. Check if the card is a U3 speed rating.
- System Not Responding: Disconnect and reconnect power. If issues persist, check for firmware updates.
