- Red Light (flashing): Low power warning, battery level is below 20%. Please charge the light.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the headlight body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the headlight in a cool, dry place when not in use. For long-term storage, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50-70%) and recharge it every 3-6 months to prevent deep discharge.
- Water Resistance: The XL1200 is IPX6 waterproof, meaning it is protected against powerful water jets. However, it is not designed for submersion. Ensure the Type-C charging port cover is securely closed to maintain water resistance.
- Heat Dissipation: The aluminum alloy shell aids in heat dissipation. Avoid covering the headlight during operation to ensure proper cooling.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Headlight does not turn on. | Battery is depleted, light is locked, or charging cable is still connected. | Charge the battery fully. Unlock the light by pressing the button 3 times quickly. Disconnect the charging cable before attempting to turn on. |
| Short battery life or rapid discharge. | Using high brightness modes continuously, battery degradation, or light not fully charged. | Use lower brightness modes for longer battery life. Ensure the light is fully charged before use. If the issue persists, contact support. |
| Light gets hot during use. | Normal operation for high-lumen lights, especially in high modes. | This is normal due to the powerful LED. The aluminum alloy shell is designed for heat dissipation. Avoid touching the lamp head directly during prolonged use. Do not use in closed environments. |
| Mount is not secure. | Incorrect installation or loose components. | Ensure the handlebar mount is tightened correctly or the GoPro adapter bolt is secure. Re-install the headlight onto the mount, ensuring it clicks into place. |
8. User Tips
- Charging Protocol: Always ensure the headlight is unplugged from the charger before attempting to turn it on or change its lock status.
- Heat Management: While the aluminum shell is designed for heat dissipation, avoid using the headlight for extended periods indoors or in confined spaces to prevent overheating. The lamp head can become hot; avoid direct contact during operation.
- Model Variations: Be aware that other XOSS headlight models (e.g., XL200, XL3000) may have different features, lumen outputs, battery capacities, and mounting options. For example, the XL200 is a mini headlight without a GoPro adapter, and the XL3000 has 10 modes and a wired switch option. Always confirm the specifications of your specific model.
- GoPro Adapter: The XL1200 comes with a GoPro adapter, allowing for versatile mounting options beyond just the handlebar.
