4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Phase Compatibility Check

Before purchasing or using your EV charger, it is crucial to determine your vehicle's phase compatibility:

  • Single Phase Vehicles: If your car's charging port does not have L2 and L3 pins, it supports only single-phase charging. In this case, please choose a 1-phase model (3.5KW or 7KW).
  • Three Phase Vehicles: If your car's charging port has L2 and L3 pins, it can support all models (3.5KW, 7KW, 11KW, or 22KW).

4.2 Cable Length Selection

Choose the appropriate cable length based on your primary charging location:

  • Home Use: 4-meter or 5-meter cables are generally suitable for home charging setups.
  • Outdoor Use: 8-meter or 10-meter cables are recommended for outdoor or public charging stations to provide greater flexibility.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Junsun EV Charger, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Regular Cleaning: Keep the control box and connectors clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Inspect for Damage: Periodically inspect the cable, plugs, and control box for any signs of wear, cuts, or damage. Do not use the charger if any damage is found.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the charger in the provided storage bag in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Water Resistance: While the control box is IP65 rated (dust-tight and protected against water jets) and the plugs are IP55/IP44, avoid submerging the unit in water. Ensure connectors are dry before use.
  • Grounding: Ensure the charging system is properly grounded as per local electrical codes.

7. Troubleshooting (FAQ)

Q1: Does the charger remember the last charging current value?
A1: Yes, the charger will automatically record and use the current setting from the last charge.
Q2: Can I set a specific charging timer?
A2: While there isn't a precise timer setting, the device supports scheduling for charging within a maximum delay of 5 hours.
Q3: What are the available cable lengths?
A3: The product is available in 4 meters, 5 meters, 8 meters, and 10 meters. Customization may also be available.
Q4: Can the charger be grounded?
A4: Yes, proper grounding is essential for safe operation.
Q5: Is the control box waterproof?
A5: The control box has an IP65 waterproof rating, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction.
Q6: What are the plug diameters for different power ratings?
A6: A 3.5KW model typically uses a standard household socket. For higher power, the 7KW blue connector is 55mm, the 11KW red connector is 55mm, and the 22KW red connector is 63mm.
Q7: Does it have 6mA DC leakage protection?
A7: 3.5KW and 7KW models feature AC 30mA protection. 11KW and 22KW models include both AC 30mA and 6mA DC leakage protection.
Q8: Is my car model compatible?
A8: This product is suitable for all electric vehicles equipped with a Type 2 interface.
Q9: Why is the maximum charging power of my 11KW charger only about 3.5KW?
A9: This usually occurs if your vehicle does not support a 3-phase power supply. The charger automatically reduces the power to 3.5KW to protect your car.
Q10: What certifications does the product have?
A10: The product holds multiple certifications, including UL, CE, FCC, and TÜV, ensuring product safety and quality assurance.
