1. Product Overview

The Gearelec 7-inch Car GPS Navigation System is a portable device designed to provide reliable navigation, multimedia entertainment, and other useful features for various vehicles including cars, taxis, buses, trucks, and ambulances. It features a high-resolution touch screen, voice prompts, FM transmitter functionality, and support for 2D/3D maps with free lifetime updates.

2. Package Contents

Please check the package contents upon unboxing to ensure all items are present:

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Mounting the Device

The GPS unit comes with a multifunctional adjustment bracket for secure placement in your vehicle.

  1. Attach the clip to the back of the GPS navigation unit. The bracket and back clip use a buckle design for easy assembly and disassembly.
  2. Connect the stand (suction cup mount) to the clip.
  3. Choose a suitable location on your windshield or dashboard that does not obstruct your view of the road.
  4. Press the suction cup firmly against the surface and engage the locking mechanism to secure it.
  5. Adjust the angle of the GPS unit using the bracket to ensure optimal visibility. The bracket allows adjustment up, down, left, and right.

3.2 Power Connection

To power the device, use the provided car charger:

  1. Plug the car charger into your vehicle's cigarette lighter jack.
  2. Connect the other end of the car charger cable to the USB port on the GPS unit.
  3. The device will power on automatically or can be turned on manually.

3.3 Initial Setup

Upon first power-on, you may need to configure basic settings:

  • Language: Select your preferred language from the available options (e.g., Russian, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Hebrew, Dutch, Swedish, Turkish, Polish, Finnish, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Estonian, Indonesian, Azerbaijani, Ukrainian, Slovak, Slovenian).
  • Time Zone: Set the correct time zone for accurate time display and navigation calculations.
  • Map Selection: The device comes with built-in Europe maps. Ensure the correct region is selected for navigation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 GPS Navigation

The GPS navigation function provides convenient and fast travel guidance.

  1. From the main menu, tap the "Navigation" icon.
  2. Enter your destination address or select from saved locations.
  3. The system will calculate the best route and display it on the 2D or 3D map.
  4. Follow the voice prompts and on-screen directions. The device is designed to handle complex routes, including viaducts and intricate crossings.
  5. For truck drivers, specific truck routing options may be available to avoid restricted roads.

4.2 FM Transmitter

Use the FM transmitter to output audio from the GPS unit to your car's radio system.

  1. From the main menu, tap the "FM" icon.
  2. Select an unused FM frequency between 87.5 MHz and 108.0 MHz.
  3. Tune your car's radio to the same FM frequency.
  4. Audio from the GPS unit (navigation voice, music, etc.) will now play through your car speakers.

4.3 Multimedia Playback

The device supports various multimedia formats:

  • Audio Player: Supports MP3, WAV, MID, DAT, ASX formats. Tap "Music" from the main menu.
  • Video Player: Supports MP4, AVI, ASF, WMV, SEF, RMVB formats. Tap "Video" from the main menu.
  • Image Viewer: Supports JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP formats. Tap "Photo" from the main menu.
  • E-book Reader: Supports TXT format. Tap "Ebook" from the main menu.

4.4 Bluetooth Function (Optional)

If your model includes Bluetooth, you can connect your mobile phone for hands-free calling and audio streaming.

  1. Access the Bluetooth settings from the main menu or system settings.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on the GPS unit and your mobile phone.
  3. Search for available devices on your phone and select the GPS unit.
  4. Pair the devices following the on-screen prompts.

4.5 System Settings

The system settings allow you to customize various aspects of the device:

4.6 Games

The device includes several pre-installed games for entertainment during breaks or downtime.

  • From the main menu, tap the "Game" icon to access the game selection.
  • Available games may include Link, Boxman, Russian, Gobang, Othello, and Snake.

4.7 Reverse Parking View (Optional)

The device supports an optional rear camera for real-time reverse parking view. A rear camera is not included with the standard package and must be purchased separately.

  • Connect a compatible rear camera to the AV IN port on the GPS unit (refer to Figure 5).
  • When the vehicle is put into reverse, the GPS unit will automatically display the camera feed.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and device exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Map Updates: Gearelec provides free lifetime updates for GPS navigation maps. Refer to the Gearelec support website or contact customer service for instructions on how to download and install the latest map data.

6. Troubleshooting
