7. Operating Instructions

The AUTOOL BT260 offers several testing modes. Use the Mode Button to cycle through them.

7.1 DC Voltage Detection Mode

This mode detects the direct current voltage value of the circuit under test. The device automatically identifies and displays the polarity:

  • Green Screen: Indicates negative polarity.
  • Red Screen: Indicates positive polarity.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device does not power on: Check that the battery clamps or cigarette lighter adapter are securely connected to a functional 12V or 24V power source. Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
  • Overload protection activates frequently: This indicates a short circuit or excessive current draw in the circuit being tested. Disconnect the tool, investigate the circuit for faults, and resolve them before retesting.
  • Inaccurate readings: Ensure the probe tip is making good contact with the test point and that the auxiliary ground clamp is connected to a clean, solid ground.

9. User Tips

  • For intermittent issues, try wiggling wires and connectors while testing to identify loose connections.
  • Always start with a visual inspection of the wiring and components before using the tester.
  • When testing fuses, ensure the fuse is completely removed from its socket to prevent back-feeding current.

10. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device and cables with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the AUTOOL BT260 in its original packaging or a protective case in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Probe Tip: Keep the probe tip clean and sharp for accurate readings. Replace if bent or damaged.

11. Warranty and Support
