4. Setup and Installation

The XR01 taillight offers versatile mounting options for your bicycle.

4.1 Mounting Options

You can mount the taillight on either the seatpost or the saddle rails using the provided brackets and cable ties/rubber strap.

  1. Seatpost Mounting:
    • Select the appropriate seat tube bracket.
    • Attach the bracket to your bicycle's seatpost using the rubber strap or cable ties, ensuring a secure fit.
    • Slide the XR01 taillight onto the bracket until it clicks into place.
  2. Saddle Rail Mounting:
    • Select the seat cushion bracket.
    • Secure the bracket to the saddle rails using the provided cable ties.
    • Slide the XR01 taillight onto the bracket until it is firmly attached.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Mode Selection

The XR01 taillight features a single button for control. Press and hold the button to power on or off. Short press the button to cycle through the available lighting modes: Standard, Flash, Breathing, and Strobe.

5.2 Smart Auto On/Off

The taillight is equipped with an intelligent vibration sensor. It will automatically turn off after 30 seconds of detecting no motion. When vibration is detected again (e.g., when you start cycling), the light will automatically turn back on in its last used mode.

5.3 Smart Brake Sensing

The XR01 features smart brake sensing. When the device detects a deceleration (braking), it will automatically highlight for 3 seconds to provide an intensified warning to vehicles behind you, significantly improving safety.

6. Charging the Device

The XR01 taillight is equipped with a Type-C charging port for convenient recharging.

  1. Locate the Type-C charging port on the taillight.
  2. Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the taillight and a standard USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter).
  3. The indicator light will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).
  4. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed after charging to maintain its IPX6 waterproof rating.

7. Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the taillight with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Water Resistance: The device is IPX6 waterproof, meaning it is protected against high-pressure water jets. However, avoid submerging it in water for extended periods. Always ensure the charging port cover is sealed.
  • Storage: Store the taillight in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for a long time, charge the battery periodically to maintain its health.
  • Battery Care: Avoid completely draining the battery frequently. Charge it regularly to prolong its lifespan.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause / Solution
Light does not turn on
  • Battery is drained: Charge the taillight using the provided Type-C cable.
  • Device is off: Press and hold the power button to turn it on.
Auto On/Off not working
  • Insufficient vibration: Ensure the bike is in motion for the vibration sensor to activate.
  • Sensor obstruction: Check if anything is blocking the sensor area.
Brake sensing not activating
  • Sudden deceleration required: The sensor activates on significant changes in speed.
  • Mounting angle: Ensure the taillight is mounted securely and relatively level to detect deceleration accurately.
Water ingress
  • Charging port cover not sealed: Always ensure the Type-C port cover is firmly closed after charging.
  • Damage to casing: Inspect for any cracks or damage to the housing.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal battery life, utilize the auto on/off feature.
  • Regularly check the mounting brackets for tightness, especially after riding on rough terrain.
  • Keep the optical lens clean for maximum visibility and light output.
  • Consider the XR PRO model if you require team synchronization, light detection, or extended battery life.
