6. Installation
The TM919B timer switch is designed for DIN rail mounting. Ensure the DIN rail is securely installed in a suitable enclosure.
Wiring Diagram:
Refer to the diagram below for proper wiring. Always ensure power is disconnected before making any electrical connections.

- Power Input: Connect the Live (L) wire to terminal 1 and the Neutral (N) wire to terminal 2. The timer requires AC220V power.
- Output Connections: The timer has a single change-over switch output.
- Terminal 4: Common (COM) output.
- Terminal 3: Normally Open (NO) contact. This contact closes when the timer is ON.
- Terminal 5: Normally Closed (NC) contact. This contact opens when the timer is ON.
- Load Connection: For loads up to 30A, you can directly connect your appliance to the appropriate output terminals (e.g., L to terminal 4, appliance to terminal 3, and appliance to N). For higher inductive loads or loads exceeding 30A, it is highly recommended to use an external contactor (as shown in Figure 3) to protect the timer's internal relay.
7. Setup and Programming
7.1 Initial Setup / Reset
- Upon first power-up or after a long period of no power, the display may be blank. The internal battery will charge once power is applied.
- Press the RESET button (usually a small recessed button, use a pointed object like a pen tip) to clear all previous settings and reset the timer. The display will show "0:00" and "AUTO".
7.2 Setting Current Time
- Press the D+ button to set the current day of the week.
- Press the H+ button to set the current hour.
- Press the M+ button to set the current minute.
- The time will automatically save after a few seconds of inactivity.
7.3 Programming ON/OFF Cycles
The TM919B allows for up to 16 ON and 16 OFF programs. Each program consists of a specific time and day(s) for the timer to switch ON or OFF.
- Press the P button once. The display will show "1 ON" (for the first ON program).
- Press D+ to select the day(s) for this program. Options include: every day, specific weekdays, weekends, etc.
- Press H+ to set the hour for the "1 ON" program.
- Press M+ to set the minute for the "1 ON" program.
- Press P again. The display will show "1 OFF" (for the first OFF program).
- Repeat steps 2-4 to set the day(s), hour, and minute for the "1 OFF" program.
- Continue pressing P to cycle through "2 ON", "2 OFF", up to "16 ON", "16 OFF", setting each as needed.
- If you don't need all 16 programs, simply stop pressing P after setting your desired programs. The timer will exit programming mode after about 10 seconds of inactivity.
- To exit programming mode at any time, press the MANUAL button.
8. Operating Instructions
Once programmed, the timer will operate automatically according to your settings. The current operating mode is displayed on the LCD screen (ON, AUTO, or OFF).
Manual Override:
The MANUAL button allows you to temporarily override the programmed schedule without deleting it. Pressing the MANUAL button cycles through the following modes:
- ON: The output is forced ON, regardless of the program.
- AUTO: The timer operates according to the programmed schedule.
- OFF: The output is forced OFF, regardless of the program.
To return to automatic operation, press the MANUAL button until "AUTO" is displayed.
9. Maintenance
- Keep the timer switch clean and dry. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the device to prevent overheating.
- The internal rechargeable battery is designed for long-term use and typically does not require replacement during the product's lifespan.
- There are no user-serviceable parts inside the unit. Any unauthorized opening or modification will void the warranty.
10. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display is blank or dim. | No power supply or internal battery discharged. | Check power connections. If power is present, allow time for the internal battery to charge (up to 4 hours). |
| Timer is not switching ON/OFF as programmed. | Incorrect program settings, manual override engaged, or incorrect current time. | Verify all ON/OFF programs are set correctly. Ensure the timer is in "AUTO" mode (press MANUAL button until "AUTO" is displayed). Check that the current day and time are set accurately. |
| Output is always ON or always OFF. | Manual override engaged. | Press the MANUAL button until "AUTO" is displayed on the screen. |
| Appliance connected to timer is not working. | Appliance fault, incorrect wiring, or timer output not active. | Test the appliance directly. Verify wiring connections (refer to Section 6). Check timer mode and program. Ensure the load does not exceed 30A. |
11. User Tips
- For Inductive Loads: If connecting motors, fans, or other inductive loads, consider using an external contactor. This will protect the timer's internal relay from high inrush currents and extend its lifespan.
- Verify Wiring: Always double-check your wiring connections against the provided diagram before applying power to prevent damage to the timer or connected appliances.
- Test Programs: After programming, use the MANUAL button to cycle the output ON and OFF to quickly verify your wiring and ensure the connected appliance responds as expected, without waiting for the scheduled time.
- Power Outage Protection: The built-in rechargeable battery ensures your programs are retained during power outages. However, for extended outages, the battery may discharge, requiring you to reset the time.
