4. Setup Guide
4.1 Important Pre-installation Notes
- This product only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. It is not compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi. Ensure your router is configured for 2.4GHz.
- Avoid special characters like `~!@#$%^&*()` in your Wi-Fi password.
- During Wi-Fi configuration, keep your smartphone and the camera close to the router for faster connection.
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
4.2 App Installation
- Search for "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" in your mobile device's App Store (iOS) or Android Market.
- Download and install the application.
- Open the APP and follow the prompts to register a new account or log in with an existing one.
4.3 Device Connection
Follow these steps to add your camera to the app:
- Power On: Connect the USB power cable to the camera and plug it into a power source. The camera will perform a self-check (lens may rotate) upon startup.
- Open App: On the APP's home screen, tap the "+" icon in the upper right corner to add a device.
- Select Device Type: Choose "Security Sensor" from the category list, then select "Smart Camera".
- Reset Device: The app will prompt you to ensure the camera's indicator light is flashing quickly or a prompt tone is heard. If you don't hear a beep, press and hold the "RESET" button on the camera for more than 5 seconds until you hear a beep. Click "Next" in the app.
- Enter Wi-Fi Details: Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network password and click "Next".
- Scan QR Code: The mobile APP will generate a QR code. Position your phone so the camera lens can scan this QR code. Keep a distance of approximately 15-20cm (6-8 inches) between the camera and the phone screen.
- Confirmation: The camera will emit a "QR code scanning successfully" or "WiFi connection successfully" prompt. Check "I heard a Prompt" in the app and wait for the connection to complete.
- Device Added: Once successfully added, you can name your device and assign it to a room scene.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 App Interface Functions
Once connected, the camera's live feed will appear in the app. The interface provides various controls:

- No video feed:
